I painted 22 splashes for swim team posters tonight
I wanted to do 25, half of the foamcore boards
but my back started to hurt
so I thought I should quit
I will only need about 40 this year
but will have ten ready for new swimmers next year!

I am making vegetable soup!

I have been thinking of making soup for two weeks
and last night DH asked if I was still in the "thinking" stage


You know, it takes a LONG time to make soup.
It was NOT ready for dinner tonight....

But it will be good for dinner tomorrow!
the house smells so yummy right now!
(but the veggies still aren't tender enough to be soup yet)

Fixing one problem always leads to anohter

the toilet is fixed
but now the wallpaper needs fixed
where DH burnt it with the blowtorch
when he was sautering.....

plumbing is very sexist and violent
male and female couplings
bleeding the lines
sweating the pipes


(no one is going to be crawling on the ground looking under the toilet, so I think the wallpaper scortch spot is a "who cares!" issue)

I go home Friday morning
Is it bad that I don't really want to leave?
I'm going to miss my friends so much
and seeing Devon everyday

very tough week at school, the kids are so antsy (of course)
and very little learning in happening!

We go Monday adn Tuesday, also
and have a party Tuesday afternoon
I will need an excessive amount of Advil, to be sure

probably since I was down in the basement painting

DH and I are going to soak....

Today was a LONG day at school
the kids are so so so so so so so so so so antsy

the teacher is trying to be very patient......

DD10 had a terrible thing happen to her today

there have been a lot of bus issues
they just got assigned seats last week


today a bully was being mean to some kids near DD10
and she stood up for the kids getting picked on
and the bully
SNEEZED, on purpose full on DD10's face


I gather many were appalled and DD10 was taken to the nurse for "clean up" with clorox wipes
we got a very nice note from the dean of students apologizing for what happened and commending DD10 for doing the right thing (supporting a victim)
and the principal has dealt with the bully

Poor DD10... the nurse called me, and I talked her down this morning, she was pretty upset

which really means that she and Uncle George are going to sit on the couch
while I do all the work
