in need of encouragement

Sorry to vent, First I tried to book a place for my nieces shower and thought I had til monday to give the deposit and they gave the room away on sunday. Now I have to find another place and the girls don't want to spend more than 75.00 each for the shower. I can't do it at my house so it has to be out somewhere.
Next: My DD6 is sick and has been since friday. Can't keep anything down. going to the doctor at 4 today

Next: If I see another girl scout cookie I'm going to scream. I asked all the troops to drop off their cookie paperwork by friday and there are troops that haven't even logged on to the computer.

Ok i just need encouragement to step off the ledge. Thanks

How many people do you have for the shower? Could you get a church hall - or the "party room" at a fire house and have it catered? How about the private diningroom at a restaurant?

At least - tomorrow is another day - and hopefully it will be better than this one for you

We use our church for showers and such. I make the food at home and just have people help me set everything up. Works really well. Hope this is an option for you. (People who don't attend our church can still use the rooms, they just have to pay for the custodian to clean up afterwards)

I'm sorry to hear you're having a difficult time. Please know that you are not alone as far as cookies are concerned. I STILL don't have one girl's order form (she got hers late, so I gave her until today), I finally got rid of most of the cookies at today's meeting, but still have one girl's in the car, I haven't heard boo from her family as to when they might be by (and she didn't come to the meeting today). It's so frustrating!

I hope DD is feeling better and that you find a place to hold the shower.

Sorry that things are not going well. Hope your DD gets better quickly and I would see about a church hall for the shower. I know ours is the largest in town and rents for $75 for a day. I am guessing in bigger areas some of them are more but they still may be about the cheapest that you can get.

My only concern with renting a hall is that it is more work on me as some of the brides maids don't live in the state and I would have to do a lot of the prepwork. I think I may have found a place, but I have to decrease the guest list. It will all work out I know.

ok now I have a "cold sore" type think on my finger. went to the er last night at work and they told me I had to leave. Now on workers comp. heading to the doctor now. I can't catch a break!

Thank goodness Sara is keeping fluids down. We had that problem last week when we flew down to FL. I thought we'd spending time in the ER with DD with an IV drip. Yesterday was the first day she ate more solid foods.

Went to doctor today and she feels that I got my finger infection at work.
The shower for my niece is way out of hand now. 2 of the girls don't want to contribute and they only want to do the batchorlette party(which I am not going to). I guess I am too old to deal with this crap. I have the place and 3 of us are going to do the shower. We seem to play nice in the sandbox. the other 2 want to do some crazy things that I'm not into.

Much better thanks for asking. I'm still waiting to find out who I have to talk to so that I can get cleared to go back to work.
It has been nice to be off so that I can catch up on a bunch of things that i needed to catch up on.

Well the finger got worse last night. Had to go to the hand surgeon today and they did xrays that were fine. He had to take a culture and boy did that hurt. So as of now I'm out of work until at least thursday. I can't stand this anymore!
I have to go back to the surgeon on monday and infectious disease dr on tuesday.
I'm trying to hang in there. One good thing is that my Husband has taken over doing the yearbook for my daughters school. He is really into making it nice. Still having stress over the shower for my niece

I also need your opinion about if I should tell my niece about how her "friends" are acting. 2 of the bridesmaids are saying that they are putting their money toward the bachelorette party and nothing toward the shower. I have been trying to keep my niece in the dark about it, but one of the bridesmaids thinks that we should tell her. I don't know.

Personally, I wouldn't tell her. You can tell her after the whole event is over (or even long after the wedding). I think it's stressful enough being a bride.
