In N Out Burger should replace McDonald's

One burger place for another makes no sense. Also, why take a 3rd rate fast food place with less ad power and less money to invest. Saying its 3rd rate is probably too much credit for it in business terms. It doesnt even register on a national scale, let alone international.

Love seeing all the corporate hate against mcdonalds on these boards considering it and disney are perfect partners and share extremely similar philosophies. If N and Out was so universally loved, it'd prevail. Its not, so it doesnt and it wont.

I have to stop you there as In-n-out is NOT a 3rd rate fast food joint. In-n-out has made a big name for themselves out in Southern California and the surrounding area and there is a reason why they dont expand to that many other states and that is all about their quality and freshness on their food. If they did expand throughout the United States like Mcdonalds or Wendy's, They would loose the quality and freshness of their product and that is why they keep it local.

As for me, I was born and raised out in Southern California and I used to go to In-n-out twice a week for their hambugers and their french fries as their stuff is way better than any fast food joint that is available. That is why you see mostly see all of the Mcdonalds, Wendy's, and Burger King's in southern California empty or near empty as In-n-out beats the competition to the ground.

Even on my vacation out to Los Angeles earlier this year, I had In-n-out everyday I was out there. I miss it dearly. Im looking foward to having some again in May of 2009 which will be my next trip to Los Angeles. 12 days straight of In-n-out burgers and fries. Yummy.......

I'm from waaay up in New Brunswick, Canada, and I made my first In N Out Burger visit this past March after we went on a cruise out of LA. It was a Sunday afternoon at about 2:00, and we went to one of their spots on Hollywood Boulevard. The place was PACKED, but we ordered and got our food within 15 minutes or so. The burgers were fresh and the fries were nice and crispy; I'd pick it over Mcd's ANY day!:thumbsup2 The price is right, too!

Isn't the restaurant part of the area where the bavarian type beer garden is going in ? Although I do like I&O (although I get impatient at the long waits) I would much rather have cold beer and brats with kraut!

Another reason that In-n-Out isn't more widely available is because they don't do franchises. All of the restaurants are completely owned by the company and not franchised out to other people. At least that's what i've heard.

Where is the closest I & O to DLR?

I'm a So Cal native and I eat at In-N-Out probably about 3 -4 times a month. I've never been a big fan of their fries, but DW loves the fries. I really do enjoy the burgers.
I think an In-N-Out in DLR would be packed! :scared1:

Where is the closest I & O to DLR?

The closest is at Euclid and Orange Ave, west and north from DL, about 3 miles. But the easiest to find would be in Fullerton on Harbor Blvd (as is DLR), due north about 4 miles. It's just past Orangethorpe Ave, and you could take the OCTA #43 bus to get there from DLR.

I have only eaten there once but I wasn't a huge fan...I just didn't see what all the hype was about. Plus aren't they big all over AZ and stuff too? So not really just a CA joint. A cute burger place should replace it but I am not sure if I agree with in and out. Maybe I just had a bad burger from there. I might try it again when we drive down in april...dh has never been. :)

YAY! Thank YOU, I'm so not a fan either!!

So not and In and Out fan. I just don't get it?! :confused3 I don't think the burgers are that great and could just skip it. Although, I know quite a few people who love it. I just don't get!!

I don't either, I don't think they are all that at all and I LOVE a good burger!!

Oh good. Someone else feels the same way. I just was not impressed at all! But some people love it :lmao:

Add me to the unimpressed list!

i like there fries but the meat isnt that grate to me

The meat was yuck, the fries were OK. Still not my first choice!

I don't really care for McDonalds but I am NOT an In N Out fan either. I do like Wendy's if I'm doing a fast food burger :)
I like Wendy's myself, it's much better than McD's. :)

Okay time for me to the play the advocate. How about instead of fast food a healthy food alternative? Some place where you can go and eat a non fatty meal?

Kaoden, I think I saw you at our middle school Open House last month! LOL I'm sure it was you......:) I don't want to post personal stuff on this public board though. :) I like your suggestion, I like having good food that's good for you. Some of the salads at DL leave much to be desired imo.

Can we compromise and have a side of Lipitor instead of fries with our burger , or something like that? :confused3
:rotfl: if you want, but I'd rather just eat better! :rotfl:

Great FRIES ANIMAL STYLE!! OOhhh BABY!!!!! *drool :upsidedow
OK, aren't these with chili and cheese, if so even more YUCK!!! ;) I really hate chili cheese fries.

eww now that is just gross people...
:)

McD's has the flavor of grossness;):lmao:

Seriously, though it's not even real meat. I'd take In-N-Out over McD's anyday. I'd feel more comfortable knowing I'm eating fresh, REAL 100% beef than who-knows-what from McD's

Also it's cheaper!

IN N Out is cheaper???? Not when I've ever eaten there!! I dont' like the meat at McD's that much either, so I eat chicken when we go there. :)

Sorry In N Out fans, I just don't see the appeal. It's just yucky to me and to DBF as well.

"Animal Style Fries" = fries with cheese, spread, grilled onions and pickles

I don't really care for In-N-Out, but that's probably because I don't eat hamburgers.
If I do go there I get a grilled cheese (with just the cheese, no spread :crazy2: ) and fries "well done"
I have 2 In-N-Outs within a mile of me, so it's nothing really special to me. :confused3

It ain't gonna happen, but why do so many of you take it personally if Disney serves something that isn't your first choice but is someone else's? I hate Chinese food but would never vent that it's gross on a thread where someone liked it. You can have an opinion, but trying to stack quotes to hate is pretty childish. BTW we fly into John Wayne in 4 weeks and will be going directly to the neareast In & Out immediately. Then I'll have an opinion on animal style fries.

Is the spread thousand island dressing? I really can't remember, it's been a long time since I ate at In N Out. I could do the garlic and pickles, but grilled onions aren't my thing, do they do them with raw onions? Maybe I'll have to go and try those.....:rotfl: I can get those and not get a burger right? :lmao:

Who's taking it personally? I said it's gross that's all. Disney serves a lot of things I don't like, that doesn't mean I take it personally. LOL

Thanks for calling me childish, apparently my appreciation of others thoughts is immature in your opinion.....LOL And if you read my quotes/replies they weren't all directed at "hate", there were many different quotes/replies in there including one to someone I think I saw at my DD's school! LOL Or maybe that wasn't directed at me...altho I think I was the one with the most quotes....lol

I'd like to hear your opinion about the fries. I seriously thought they were chili cheese fries. :) Wondering what the "spread" is too......these might be something I fall in love with! lol

i also mapquested this because we're definitely going there for dinner one night in december since we'll have a rental car during that trip! can't wait! LOL! :thumbsup2

Ohhhhhhh! Only if they could could come to Hawaii. They must put something in their burgers (like crack or something - and NO I never took the stuff and never will; that stuff WILL mess you up; ever seen the "Chappelle Show" - funny stuff). Anyway, it tastes much better than McDonald's. I'm getting a little hungry right now. Oh well, I guess I have to wait until we take our trip to Disneyland in December.

eh, howzit, goofy hawaiian! that would be perfect if in-n-out was in hawaii...then we'd be able to eat there at least once a year when we are back home visiting the family! you on oahu?

I think the fries sort of grow on you. The first time I tried In-n-Out, I wasn't sure about the fries either but now i really like them. They just taste different than the fries we are used to getting, probably because they slice the potatoes right there and throw them into the oil so there's not any extra ingredients.

I agree completely, they are an aquired taste for sure. The first time I had In-n-Out I really didn't like them. Now I love them. For me they must be very fresh, covered in salt and eaten one at a time. So that means we can't bring it home, by the time we get their the fries just aren't the same.

They are building on very close to our house, :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Same here. It's okay, but I didn't find them to be anything special. Tasted like what I can make at home. Maybe they really do make them with all real stuff. I'm used to a fastfood burger not being real darn it! :rotfl2:

But we also have them here in Nevada, so it's not a CA thing alone.

You are correct that they dont allow anyone to franchise any of their stores and will probably never allow it in the future either.

I just don't see Disneyland ever going with a lesser known name like I&O - California connection or no. I HATE to say it, but I think Disney would stick with other familiar names that are known nationwide, and IF they got a new 'known' burger place to replace McDonalds, I think it would be something like Burger King or, even worse, Jack in the Box (ick!). Sadly, for me, I don't even think Wendy's is well-known enough. I think they want to stick with something that is very familiar to all people from all countries and cultures - and McDonalds was the perfect name for that, but since they are leaving, it has to be something on par with that or close to it. Either that, or they will just do something else with that space entirely and not worry about another burger place since they have Taste Pilots Grill.
