We have been back 2 weeks this Sat. and I am feeling so weird. We were there for 10 days and had the GREATEST time ever!

Does anyone else ever come home and feel a bit lost?
After a year of reading and planning to nothing- it feels alittle sudden...i keep laughing at myself- am i weird to feel like I am already ready for another trip?

Please someone encourage me...i already am thinking i need to search video clips for a "Wishes Fix"- we did buy the Happiest Celebration CD and listen to it in the van...the girls relive Splash Mountain everyday! :)

I think I just need to have a g-sale and start a new Disney fund!
My bday is July 24th- I usually get 125.00 from my in laws...that is a start ;)

I have post-Disney depression too. :guilty: I just got back a week ago. And it's like, "Now what?"

I also had post-Wedding/Honeymoon depression.

I can only assume post-partum depression will be in my future as well. :rotfl:

Welcome to my life. I had that same feeling at 8yo after my first trip. I didn't have a clue why I was even feeling the way I was. Now, 33yrs. later, I know what it is. And, so, I just plan another trip. LOL

Yep. We got home about 2am on Friday morning. By 2pm on Friday afternoon, we had put a hold on a room for October. DH was in one funk of a mood.

When we left Disney after our wedding in December, it was awful. Awful. We had to drive home, too, which made things that much worse. I ws so glad the wedding itself was over, but so lost becuase family was going back their separate ways and there wasn't a planned event to bring everyone together. Add the stress of starting at a new school, DH's crash GMAT course, and the yucky weather and January here was fabulous. I couldn't wait for school to start again at the end of the month around the 8th or so.

It's withdrawl and the let down from all the excitement and anticipation of planning. Try to find other things to look forward to...and maybe schedule the next trip so you have that high again

I think I'm in the same boat! :boat:

We were there 11-20th and the weather was so good. And I too feel like now what- I do have scarpbooking to start which is theraputic. :)

My girls have been looking at last years book all week!

I can't barely bring myself to write reviews...it's too painful ;)

I was there the 18th through the 23rd. I need to go pick up my pictures.

Actually, this trip was a bit different for me because this time we took our nieces (3 and 5). DH and I don't have kids yet. So, actually, I was ready to go home by the end of this trip (if only to drop my nieces off at their mom's house, then return to WDW sans kids!!). :rotfl:

What I usually do is book another trip prior to going on my trip so I don't get that let down feeling.Am I making any sense:rotfl2:

I totally know what you mean! Last year's depression was awful. It was our first trip and completely magical. Then when we left, we spent 4 days driving up the east coast, and on the last day we went to NC to try to find a friend of mine who's gone missing -- we couldn't find him anywhere, so that compounded the depression.

At least after this year's trip, I have the Ladies Only Dis Meet to look forward to.

PDD - (post Disney Depression) - that's my diagnosis and these boards are your cure!

It just means it time to start planning your next vacation. Even if it is in a year or two it's just nice to have one in the works.

Sorry to say it, but it doesn't get any better. :guilty: I've been to WDW 6 times in 5 years; DW, the kids, and I still get embarassingly sad every time we leave. Our next trip is in January and that seems like forever from now.

I am a BIG sufferer of PDD. That is how we became memebers of DVC. My very 1st trip ever was in 1995, I went for 10 nights with my best friend. A month after that trip, I met my DH. In 1997, I went back with him, he had never been. In 1999, we took our 2yo DS, and from there, the trips went from every 2 years, to 18 months, to 15 months, and we even went twice in 3 months. I would get home and within a month, I would be calling and making another reservation. It was time for a DVC tour. LOL.

Even now, I say "we are not going next year, we will bank the points and take a big trip the year after" IT NEVER HAPPENS. We have been going every year, and sometimes more than once a year for 3 years now.

WARNING: DO NOT EVER GO ON THE DISNEY CRUISE! If you are a sufferer of PDD, the Disney Cruise will only make it worse, much worse. :teeth:

I hate, hate , HATE checkout day. I can't stand how sad I am that I have to go home. It is so bad, that even on my 1st day, checking in, I see the people leaving, and I get that sad feeling FOR THEM. Or maybe it is a sad feeling for me, reminding me that it will be me standng there with my suitcases all too soon.

Oh, I am soo glad you said that- I was so embarassed on the last night and we were walking from Adventureland after riding Splash Mountain 3 more times in a row...we turned the corner by the HUB and my hubby said let's get 1 more look (he was kind of playin' with me) but I was tearing up!

I felt like surely I am not the only one in the world that cried on the their last night at Magic Kingdom-for goodness sakes I am 35 years old! :)

We did last year- 4 land and 3 sea! And that's how we ended up this year on a 10 day WDW trip!
This is very bad!

I do the SAME thing- I am walking up and I see their faces as they join around the airline desk- I barely can look at them...I honestly frowned and said to my girls..."poor people, they are on their way home..."

This is crazy...I am so glad I am not alone feeling this way! At least this thread is starting to make sense of my madness!! :)

Well, you are not alone. I am sentimental enough to shed a few tears all over The World at any time. But upon leaving, I shed some tears at whichever park I'm in. I'm sure if people notice they think I'm nutty. If I am in MK, I ride the horse trolly thing and cry right down Main Street. And if the Dapper Dans are out singing...pass the box of kleenex please.

BUT, I'm married to a great guy who takes me back again and again!

OMG, Kristie...I was the EXACT same way! We got back on 5-20 from a weeklong awesome vacation. I keep asking my DH to refill my mug at Roaring Forks! At first it was funny, but now he's looking at me like I'm crazy! My mom and aunt came and even they can't wait to go back. I also know just what you mean about noticing the people leaving and checking in...I'm always so jealous the day we check out, when I see people just arriving. "That was just me a few days ago!" We're hoping someday to join the DVC...

YES - I actually begin dreading *that* feeling, right before we go. It happens every single time. It stinks. :guilty:

Only thing you can do is plan again. :rolleyes1
