My husband and I were walking through Canada this past trip and thought it looks like they have sized down. You know the kiosks look smaller, less workers, some were closed and what happened to those Beavertails..

A little info on the Beavertails:

"Well ... it's a wickedly delicious, fresh, hot, pastry treat — shaped like the water slapping end of ... a Beaver!

Based on an ancient North American Voyageur recipe, these wildly delicious pastry treats were first introduced to Ottawa, Canada in 1978 by the Hooker family when they established the first permanent BeaverTails® store in Ottawa's historical Byward Market where it still thrives as a landmark today.

Now, over two decades later, BeaverTails® pastries have become a special part of 'leisure' experiences internationally. Thanks to the endearing quality of our products and to the dedication of our franchisees around the world, BeaverTails® are currently gobbled up at over 130 fun recreational and tourist sites worldwide – from Whistler Mountain Resort in the northwest – to Walt Disney World in the southeast of North America – and in Costa Rica, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia and Scotland!"

It is a franchise, I guess the people doing the franchise were not getting a good return as they are long gone from WDW....

Oh, how I miss those beavertails. We used to get one every trip to Epcot. I get sad every time I walk past the closed kiosk :sad1: .

We learned about Beavertails on the disboards....we tried them and loved them! We used to get them before Illuminations and eat them while we were waiting for it to start. Ahhhhh...good times! :flower:

Wow, you know more about Beavertails than this Ottawa native!!! :)

They are especially popular here during Winterlude, when the World's Longest Skating Rink is open for this wonderful yearly festival. Beavertails are wonderful when paired with a nice hot chocolate :goodvibes

I have to go get my box of tissues now. I am so sad.
Alas I am still missing my beloved beavertails.

I got the whole family to try the beaver tails and we weren't impressed. Guess that left for the rest of you. :)

Darnit, beavertails was one of those things I was eager to try thanks to my sister's recommendations... so sad i'll never be able to try them!!

This is totally depressing. We were told by a CM at the popcorn kiosk that they were having a problem with one of the ingredients and that they were only going to be gone temporarilly.

I can't believe there gone forever.

The beaver tails were never the same after they stopped making them totally fresh on property ("par-baked, or whatever they called it!)

Hopefully they will return -

Denise

  Waaaaaa, I miss Beavertails!! It was the first thing we did after entering the WS...stop for our apple-cinnamon Beavertail.
