In Mardi Gras week typically a blackout for discounts?

Is Mardi Gras typically blacked out for discounts?? We are planning to travel over Mardi Gras this year sinec it fallis in early March this year, and we are out of school. Just wondering if they historically have blacked it out.

I don't believe that's a blackout period - we were there in 2009 during Mardi Gras week (we were on school break from NH); and were able to get the buy4/get3 free deal AND the $250 gift card offer.
