My husband and I will be taking our 16 month old to the Magic kingdom for the day. Any suggestions? We have a ressie at Ohana's - but is there someplace else that is so amazing we must go to for dinner? Also, what about for lunch?

thanks for the advice.

'Ohana might be a little loud but a 16 month old can probably handle that, IMHO. However, if you prefer, Kona Cafe is nice, and right next-door.

Are you looking for a character meal? If so, you can't go wrong with Crystal Palace for any meal. I've also heard excellent things about Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner (also a character meal) although I've only lunched there-fabulous meal though. Are you looking for quality of food or atmosphere for your little one?

I 2nd Liberty Tree Tavern! It was very good and it really wasn't loud at all! The characters were really great! I love the atmosphere in LTT :)

We are spending one day at MK this Monday with DD8 and Dnephews 3 & 4. We are having our one sit-down meal at Crystal Palace. We think that the food is quite good, the setting is pretty and Pooh characters are always a hit (especially with the toddler/preschool set.)

One big meal a day is enough for me, so if we eat again, I would probably grab something counter service (Cosmic Rays we like) or snacky. If you want another sit down, The Plaza is nice and quiet--sandwiches, salads, ice cream...

Enjoy!

Personally, if I were spending just one day at MK, I wouldn't go out of the park to eat, but that's just MHO.

Crystal Palace - I love the food there more than any of the other buffets. LTT was a nice atmosphere but I thought the food was very lacking at dinner - sort of bland (a plain meat, potatoes, vegetable - like a tv dinner!).

Can't beat the milkshakes at the plaza.

Can't say enough about the crystal Palace. My daughter's favorite since she went at 18 months. Good food, atmosphere and characters. Great location.
Also she might like Sonny Eclipse if you want a quick bite.

The Crystal Palace is one of my must-dines on every trip. The food and service are great. Oh, and pooh:, :tigger:, :eeyore: & Piglet are there.

Several years ago we ate lunch at Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends and it was great. The food was good and our son loved seeing the characters. He was 7 at that time. We made a character lunch reservation so we didn't have to wait a long time and also knew he would see the characters at our table. We like to eat at Casey's Corner for a quick meal and love the Tropical Smoothies at Auntie Gravity's for a quick refreshment! Makes me wish I was there!!!

So the crystal palace is in MK? What type of food?

In response to am I looking for atmospher or food - I'm looking for delicious, yummy food that is a great dining experience. It would be a pain to leave the park - so I might just stay inside and go to one of your suggestions.

Another vote for Crystal Palace. Check out the menus on all ears net web site...dinner was great, DH & I Loved it, plus tons of great desserts...and mac and cheese of course for the kids. We went with our DDs aged 4 and 19mos...both did great, and loved it.

I never found any food inside MK that I would call yummy. The counter-service at Tomorrowland Noodle Station was the most edible. Certainly stay away from Liberty Tree Tavern as it's food is no better then you would find at any counter service inside MK at 3 times the price.

I always plan a meal at a monorail resort restaurant when at the MK and am pushed for time. My 16mo (at the time) really appreciated the break, that leaving to a resort for a time gave him. He handled the EXCITEMENT at the MK better in smaller chunks. But... this differs so much between children.

I would go to Citricos for dinner at GF resort. It's one of my fave restaurants at WDW! And yes we did take our 16mo here and he was fine.

If I HAD to do lunch, I would pick Kona Cafe. If I had had a late breakfast, I would consider Garden View Lounge for sandwiches and tea mid-afternoon.

But, I too would only have one sit-down per day. That is more than enough food for me!

We went to Crystal Palace in Dec. for dinner it was our first time there, and loved it. The character interaction is superb and the food was delicious, like i said we both loved it!=0) :tink: pixiedust:

I agree, on TS is enough in a day for me. The best CS in MK, IMO, is Columbia Harbor House, yummy food.

What's the actual website where you can see the menu for the buffet? i know it changes, just want to get an idea. Thanks!

Here's another option I haven't seen yet ... you can get on the monorail and ride it to Contemporary (in case you'd like to experience the monorail and not walk/stroller ride over) ... and eat at Chef Mickey's. We took our first child there at 15 months and she LOVED it there! It's a lot like Crystal Palace ... only it's not Pooh Characters ... it's Mickey and friends.
Whatever you do, have fun!

Crystal Palace is a typical buffett.

:thumbsup2 Another vote for LTT. I really like the fact that it isn't a buffet.
It's a great place....the food, service, atmosphere and characters are all wonderful. This is one of my favorites :)
