In Loving Memory **Update on this post 2/10/06**

Our deepest condolences. Those memories are truly the best and will stay in your heart forever. May you find solace and comfort in knowing you had the best of times with him.

I too am sorry to hear about your loss. we should all remember how precious every day that we have with our loved ones is. God bless.

Jean, I am so very sorry for your loss. Your Father was obviously a wonderful man. We've taken my parents with us to WDW twice, which we would have never been able to do without DVC. When DH's parents retire in a couple of years we'll be taking them too. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you this week, as I'm sure it will be a difficult one for you. :grouphug:

What a moving memorial for a special man. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. :grouphug:

Jean, i am so sorry for your loss...I too just lost a very close friend (Jan.24) she was joining our family on our spring break trip to WDW in April. I will truly miss her....

I am sorry for your loss, which is also a loss for everyone... when a good man dies, the world is a lesser place.
I appreciate his service to our country.
May your good memories of him lighten your grief.

Jean,

I am sorry for your loss and our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
I lost my father nearly 3 years ago, this was a year before we started going to WDW. His only regret was that he wounld'nt be around to see his only granddaughter grow up, she was 2 at the time. Still trying to get my mom to go with us on a trip. I think of him when I am at WDW.

Jim.

We are so sorry for your loss - we are taking my in-laws with us on our points to SSR in 12 days! My mother in law has had breast cancer, lung cancer and most recently bladder cancer and is a true survivor! She still has another surgery to go through in March, but she is well enough to go to disney with us! We are praying and hoping everything will stay that way! We have been planning this trip with them for over a year and are hoping to make some "magical memories" with our daughter and her grandparents in Disney! God Bless

Oh Jean, I am so sorry. You've really had a rough go of it lately haven't you? It sounds like your dad was an awesome man that you are extremely proud of...I hope the wonderful memories of your time together at WDW help get you through the sad times.

I'm so sorry for you and your family's loss. You are right about not waiting too long. My mom died 2 yr before we bought DVC and my dad died 3 months before we bought DVC. We knew about DVC but put it off. I now wish we hadn't put it off. They've been to WDW 2x before, but they would have loved it now and I would have loved to be able to take them! My deepest sympathies.

Jean - I'm so very sorry for your loss. Your dad sounds like a great guy. I lost my dad seven years ago this month. The pain eases with time, but your life is changed forever.

I was on the phone with my mom just yesterday. We are taking her on her first trip to WDW this May, made possible by DVC. I feel so fortunate to be able to do this with her. Your advice has made me even more aware that the time we get to spend with our parents is something to treasure.

I'm very sorry for your loss, and thank you for sharing. You reminded so many people what's really important in life.

I lost my father in 1965 - still have mother and yes she goes with annual (if not more often to WDW)...

but she can't get around like she use too and I am getting out of shape myself so pushing that wheelchair can be a big pain...

she will be 84 this Oct, Spicey will be 20 this May - I am going to lose them both soon and then I just go  :furious:

Time does help!!!

don't be surprised if you first visit to WDW brings back memories of your father....crying is good for the soul!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I read your post with tears in my eyes because I know just how you feel. My Dad was a Navy veteran also throughout the same conflicts as your Dad. We brought him to WDW in 2002 to see my DD dance in the MK and it was one of the most heartfelt experiences he and my family had ever experienced together. We never expected 7 weeks later that he would pass away unexpectedly and we felt so blessed to have been able to share those special memories with him. God bless you and give you strength in the days to come. :grouphug:

:grouphug:

Sorry to read of your loss Jean. That is a wonderful picture and that is really why DVC means so much to me.

:grouphug: Treasure those memories Jean. We never could convince DH's Dad (also a WWII vet) to join us at WDW. He'd been to DL and "knew" they were just the same. It's always tough to say goodbye to people we love, but what a wonderful memory there is in your signature picture.

I am so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. :grouphug:

Sorry for your loss, Jean. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Jim

My sincere condolences to you and your family. To hear you talk about your Dad, I can tell he also brought alot of "Magic" to you and your family.

Best wishes,
Tom
