Jane- SO EXCITED FOR YOU AND YOUR 1st 1/2!!!

didn't sound like it went exactly how you wanted but hey you DID FINISH!!! That is so inspiring to me!
To help with the Plantar fasciitis freeze a water bottle and roll your foot over the top of it! I find this helpful, you ice and stretch it at the same time!
Congrats AGAIN on completing you first 1/2!!!
(p.s. sorry I'm so late in congratulating you!)
James- How did the Abe's Amble go? Are you feeling better? You are right to choose health over mileage!
Mike- I did not make it to 10 miles, I stopped at 6.5 due to the heat and humidity! I started at 6am and it was 90% humidity and already 78 degrees! I called it good at the 6.5 and am happy I listened to my body! I did like the Vanilla Gu! I still have a chocolate one to try too! You are crazy to run in a thunderstorm! But I assume it was also kind of fun in a rebellious sort of way! Maybe I'll go crazy enough to say the M word for 2012, the verdict is still out on that one, better get my first 1/2 under my belt before I make any rash decisions!
Stacie- Sorry you can't run yet, I know that must be frustrating. I'm happy to hear you are listening to your dr, your PT and your body and not running, working in a PT clinic I see TOO many patients who go running anyway and just prolong their recovery! Keep up at the bike and the exercises. If you are looking for some good cardio that doesn't involve running, ask you PT if they have an Arm Bike, or Upper Body Cycle. They provide a killer cardio workout without involving your lower extremities! Keep us updated! when do you see the Dr. next?
AFM- Oh wow! I seem to have forgotten how the internet works......lol. I don't have a good excuse for my absence, just checked out for a while I guess
. I have been doing ok with my workouts. I did 6.5 miles 2 weeks ago instead of my planned 10 but was listening to my body and with the heat and humidity we were having I called it quits! I have been keeping up with my workouts during the week but haven't done any long mileage since then.
My sister had her baby on the 10th and I've been spending most of my free time over there! She is the first baby in the family so we are all captivated by her every move, however small it may be! I did take her out for a walk in her stroller yesterday and she LOVED it! was awake and aware the WHOLE time just looking at everything! I can't wait to take my new buddy out more often and get her hooked on staying healthy!
I am thinking of finding a Fall 10K to help me transition into my training for the WDW 1/2. I'm debating from one in my back yard, or one at the University of Michigan. Both have their pros and cons- back yard is close, however in only 3 weeks, U of M is 6 weeks away, however a 1.5 hour drive from my house.... decisions decisions!
I hope everyone is doing well and can't wait to hear all of your updates!
Keep on moving!

Oh well! We made matching outfits so at least if we don't win we are gonna look good!! That's what matters most right? lol
But he said that I could run through it, as long as it doesn't hurt while I'm running. So off to the store i went, got some pretty fabulous new kicks, and some orthotics. The Dr. recommended some stretches and aleve twice a day. Said I shouldn't have any problems doing the Wine N Dine half and that we're going to be ok getting this under control. So i'm psyched. It rained yesterday so I didn't get to run, but it's beautiful here today so I'm definitely going to take my new sneakers for a spin tonight. Heel feels great since i've been following the doc's orders.

But the good news, is I can still have margaritas. (insert smiley drinking frosty margarita with umbrella here).
I finally feel like me again. I could have gone longer, but taking it easy so I can recover and really get through the Wine N Dine. I haven't run on a treadmill in about 8 years so that was new for me. But I'll take whatever small victories I can get.
