In and Out in a Day

Nan - Y'all need to get your butts down here and we will hit all of our favorite spots with you!!! I would love for y'all to come down.:thumbsup2
Doug and I say that someday we need to come down to see you all. Wouldn't it be great if we all could meet up. Oh how I would LOVE that!! Maybe someday!!!

Marilyn ~ Oh sweetie, I am so sorry you are in so much pain. Doug had his meniscus repaired in December and he is doing so much better. I would have the surgery and then recoup. It sure made a BIG difference with him.

Robyn ~ Someday I would love to come to your neck of the woods. It sounds amazing. You are going to be getting some major heat the next few days. Stay safe!
I am also one that my Momma made gargle with salt water. I hated it, but had to admit it did make it feel better.

PIO ~ I agree, you are pooped out. You worked so hard on your project that you are now paying for it. Please take care of you.

Nan ~ I understand missing the girls. I am so glad I had this last weekend with the grand's as 11 days is going to be SO long. It will be the longest that I won't see Liam and Lilly. And we did put an International plan on Doug's IPhone but it will be for emergency only. I will NOT leave the country without being able for my kids to reach me if they need to. But at $2.99 a minute we won't be chatting. :lmao: We can and do buy a calling card so I will be able to check in once in awhile. But even that is an experience all in itself. :rotfl2: The only phone is outside a farm store and the chickens are everywhere and loud. I wish you could see it. It is :dance3:

Well Doug was true to his word. He was home around 8:00pm and surprisingly all but packed. We can't find his boots. We searched for hours last night and they are no where to be found. And of course it is my fault! I finally went to bed and he was still searching. I sure hope we don't have to go get another pair.

WFDT ~ eating out - the kitchen and fridge are spotless.

Make it a great day!!

Oh Ellen! Those last minute issues drive me crazy! buddy absolutely will not sort his clothes out early, so it is inevitable that we are out shopping the day or two before we leave and I get so darn cranky! I hope that you take pictures and post them on FB once you return, would so much like to "experience" this experience through your eyes. JIC we miss each other before you leave. Safe travels and Go with God. I will miss you!

PIO- feel better.

Marilyn- my friend has had a lot if luck with the series of injections. He only has one leg so he really puts a lot more weight on his knee than the average person.

I have a coworker who has had them as well and she said they worked great. She was having a lot of problems before she had them.

Marilyn ~ Oh sweetie, I am so sorry you are in so much pain. Doug had his meniscus repaired in December and he is doing so much better. I would have the surgery and then recoup. It sure made a BIG difference with him.

If this doesn't work then I will do the surgery but at this time it would be such a huge pain as work is crazy and not only would I have to rearrange my work I have to rearrange my house.

We live in a townhouse and my room is on the bottom level which has no bathroom, I have to go to the middle level. :headache: That would mean having to set up a recovery area in the living room, which means my DM in my face ALL THE TIME! I would lose what is left of my mind!

Good luck on your trip!

Kathy- emeril spoke as my freshman orientation, lets just say I wasn't impressed.

Ellen- I hope the boots turned up, I don't think this is the time to break in new ones

Nancy- ewwwww, you stayed at cuddle and bubble?! No matter where you stay it will be better! It is getting loud here, normally it's fine but the current renters behind us are very disrespectful. This is the first time we have ever needed to be in contact with the owners.

Have a great day all! Stay cool.

Robin- That is not good! When you need to al an owner, that is pretty loud!

The name was not Cuddles and Bubbles but it was on the marquis when we arrived. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm what could this mean? Found out when we went out to the patio for a cold drink while waiting for Deb. Couples, already three sheets to the wind and dressed in BLINGY tight tops were calling out to passersby "Cuddles and Bubbles!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cuddles and Bubbles!" Kady was :confused3, my sister was :rolleyes1, Marisa was :scared::scared::scared: And I ordered a drink. It was too late to go anywhere else, but by dinnertime, Deb told us what was going on in the gynormous Jacuzzi next door, and told us not to take a bath. Oh oh too late :eek:Marisa was now shopping for sanitizer!
Gail is never making reservations again.....she has been fired!

Thanks girls, I will truly miss each of you. You all just make my day!!

Nan ~ You truly gave me my chuckle for the day. :rotfl2: Cuddles and Bubbles.

The boots were found last night. I was determined to find them. We both pretty much tore this house up looking for them. We determined that they were no where to be found, so Doug went out to mow and I was packing. All of a sudden I thought of one place we hadn't looked. Went upstairs and there they were. I took them outside and held them up. Doug was thrilled and so was I as I didn't want the expense of buying new ones and he didn't want to have to break them in.

But.......as I was zipping my big suitcase this morning my zipper broke. DAMN!!! I truly have gotten my moneys worth out of this bag, it has been all over the world. But now I have to get another one and that means I have to repack everything.

We are both off at noon (40 minutes) and will drop Cooper off with Marty and Stephanie then on to Lincoln. We will go to the mall for another suitcase and then have a nice dinner. We will stay with Matthew (Matthew is going to Panama with us also) tonight and then will head for the airport tomorrow. We fly out at 1:00 pm.

I will see you all on Monday July 29th. You all play nice!!

I can almost post dinner for the next 11 days - Chicken with rice, Rice with Chicken ....repeat

Make it a great day!!

Ellen- Wishing you well for the next two weeks! Have a wonderful trip and stay safe!

Ellen - Have a safe trip! We'd love to see you & Doug down here!

Marilyn - How are you feeling?

Robyn - I can't say anything negative about Emeril as he has done so much for New Orleans both before and after Katrina. I may be partial to Besh because he's a local boy with that southern charm.:cloud9:

Nan - Your story about Cuddles & Bubbles has me in stitches.:lmao: It reminds me of our first night after evacuating for Katrina. We had to take what we could get and it looked ok from the outside but at night when we turned the lights out stars started flashing on the walls and a stripper pole came shooting out of the ceiling. We were with our friends and our kids were 15 at the time. We were all shocked but we had some fun with it and laugh about it to this day!

I am having a hell of a week at work, drinking some wine right now.:goodvibes

Kathy- fair enough. I will say my thoughts on emeril have mellowed over the years. I think him having young children has made him realize he shouldn't be condescending to people's dreams. I also think emeril is the perfect example of the American dream, start at the bottom and work your way up.

Nancy- I have to say you are braver than me. I know the exact place you mean. There is no way I'd go there.

Ellen- have a great trip!

:lmao::rotfl2::lmao: I can just picture it! You have my bubbles beat!

Enjoy your wine, it works every time!

We were not brave. We had no idea what we walked into until it was waaaaaaaaaaay too late

Buddy is still out there in this blistering heat. hey are topping plants and adding sucker control. It is bad enough job as it stands, but the smell of that stuff is nauseating. :scared:
Dinner is a simple cheeseburger and some sliced cucumber and tomatoes. No appetite after that job! I also keep some cold fresh grapes for snack, they seem to help

Marilyn - How are you feeling?

Hanging in there. I have been having trouble sleeping because every time I move my knee joints shift too much which causes pain and it wakes me up.

Last night I put on pain patches and wrapped both knees in ace bandages which really helped keep my joints from shifting so much.

The shots have to be approved by my insurance company which could take a week or so, hopefully not more than a week.

Marilyn- Wow! I feel badly for you knee pain is one of the worst, I think. Please be careful until you get your shots.

Marilyn - I am so sorry you are in so much pain. I am adding you to my prayer list. Hopefully you won't have to wait too much longer.

Nancy - Yup; the project decompression cold. I thought I'd be sick last week; not this week. I went to work today. At 11 am, my client told me I looked awful and to go home.....but......."could you just get [x] done before you leave?" One simple request. How on earth did it then result in 5 hours worth of debate and discussion? How????? :faint:

(BTW - I still look awful!!)

And I was LOL at Cuddles and Bubbles!

Ellen - I'm looking forward to a nice and relaxing weekend. Hopefully, this sickness will go away. In the meantime, lots of water and vitamin C.

Have a great trip!

Marilyn - hugs!!!

PIO- hope you are able to have a relaxing weekend.

Marilyn- I'm sorry you are so uncomfortable. I have a couple of joints that give me trouble and they do hurt so bad sometimes that I can't focus. I'm not positive but I think once you get the injections the relief is almost instant. I hope it gets approved for you quickly. I've also heard the injections themselves aren't too bad.

Nancy- my husband is out working in the heat too. He is out in all weather but the extreme temperatures (hot and cold) make me appreciate what he does for our family even more. Now if his laundry could make it the basket he'd be perfect.

Well the disney countdown is official, we are booked for February at beach club. We've never stayed there before so, we loved being so close to Epcot staying at boardwalk but beach club looks more relaxing.

Have a great day all!

PIO- I hope that you are feeling better today, and that you can rest this weekend.

Robin- I am in awe at those folks who work outdoors in this weather. I know what you mean about appreciating that effort because the stamina it takes to push yourself to get the job done when conditions are oppressive is incredible. I have asked him to toss his clothes down the stairs, they are that bad. Yesterday he got stuck in them they were so wet.

Buddy told me that his company needed to send a man to the hospital the other day. The blacktop is extremely hot, and the laborers are working it. Yikes! Jeff and Dan work in a warehouse with little ventilation, so they work in temps in excess of 100 degrees all summer long. :faint:

So after all this, I have to work today, and I am not looking forward to it.

PIO - I agree with everyone and hope you are able to have a relaxing weekend and feel better soon.

Robyn - I think you're going to love the Beach Club! You really can't go wrong with any of the Epcot resorts.:cloud9:

I know our temps aren't as bad as what y'all are dealing with but I worry about Kyle every day. Sheryl's husband, Bob, got him a job 2 months ago and he's outside doing physical labor 10 hours a day for the first time in his life. He's already been dehydrated once and he was throwing up all night last night. Hopefully his body will adjust to this soon.

WFD - Going out for Italian food tonight!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hot is hot. When you work outdoors, it can be dangerous. Tell Kyle to make sure he starts his day hydrated, and that he manages his salts. You can drink til the cows come home, but if your body does not retain the fluids, you end up like Bud was last night. I talked to Jeff and he said to tell Kyle to drink plenty of water before he starts, but to also drink Gatorade. I honestly don't know if it helps but he and Dan are in that freaking hot warehouse, and they swear by it. I know it is a tough transition, but he will get the hang of it.

Robin- we stayed at the BC on our last trip. The walk to Epcot was awesome! You are going to feel right at home.

Kathy- working in the heat is tough. My husband has a two gallon water jug made by igloo. We make giant ice cubes with 32 ounce yogurt containers. The big ice cubes last most of the day. He needs to drink water before he's thirsty. I don't think it's something the body gets used too, you just get better at pacing yourself. Also, he probably doesn't want to here this from his mother, but alcohol is very dehydrating. I don't know why I'm telling this to you, you all are a lot more familiar with dealing with the heat than us but my husband has worked outside year round for 13 years. How is Sheryl doing?

Nancy- I'm sure we will love beach club. We have stayed at boardwalk before but I think beach club will be a little less chaotic and more relaxing. Our favorite is wilderness lodge, but since we spend every single night at Epcot it's so nice to just be able to walk back.

So today is the last day of this heat! It is so not supposed to be this hot here. Have a great day all, I think I'm going to head to work a bit early and hang out in my air conditioned office.

You are so right, you need to be hydrated before you even get started. Buddy hauls his jug with him and I keep some 2 and 3 gallon cooler jugs as well as the 5 gallon ones. Yesterday another man dropped at his work, making it two in one week, His manager shut down at 1 and sent everyone home. Buddy said this is almost unheard of, but working behind those pavers was unbearable.

I am thankful that the heat wave is supposed to be over tomorrow! Of course it comes with a price in the form of severe storms. It makes sense because Donny and Anna are hosting a BBQ this afternoon, and their house is miniscule ::yes::Donny is hoping the storms hold off at least until after lunch, it will be one tight fit if not.

We liked the BC, but our favorite is the Poly. Well, mine is actually AKL, but I am alone in that. Buddy surprised me and said he is not staying off of the monorail again, but our fiances won't support that declaration. We end up at POFQ most of the time, but since Bud does not always join us, we'll save the Poly for him.

Hope everyone is having a great beginning to the weekend!!!!!1111
