In and Out in a Day

Merry christmas all!!! Hope to see all if you back here after Christmas vacation, I'll be the one with the tummy full of cookies!

Glynis - I echo your sentiment. I am also thankful for another year of friendship with you all.

Ellen - I never ever thought that I'd say this. Sometimes, not knowing people in 3D can bring deeper and stronger friendships.

Nancy - Hope that next year remains drama-free. Christmas this year was drama-free for us. For that, I am thankful.

Robin - I'll definitely be popping in here. I'll be the one next to you with the full tummy (not just cookies.....food!)

Happy Day After Christmas, everyone!!! Hope your day was great, yesterday!!!

We had an amazingly relaxing time! The kids slept in until about 8:30, and then we did stockings. It took quite some time, as the twins got DSi's, Katie a Karaoke machine, Jacob a chess set, and Timmy a music player. They wanted to take time to enjoy what they got before we ripped into the presents under the tree.

We finished up with presents by about 10:00 and moved on to breakfast. I made red velvet cinnamon rolls (however, they looked much better than they tasted! I think I'll just stick with regular next year!), and a crock pot egg and hash brown bake. After breakfast, we cleared off the table, and I put out platters of pumpkin bread, cookies, fudge, peanut brittle and other candies. We also had cheese balls, clam dip and chips, and Chex mix. We all just lazed around nibbling what we wanted, when we wanted.

About noon, we started a turkey, but once it was done, no one wanted a huge meal. So, we had turkey sandwiches instead. Nice and easy. We spent the day just watching movies, playing games, reading new books, and playing with all the new toys! It was so nice! Alan kept trying to get the kids interested in going out somewhere (he never did specify where), but they were enjoying a day of not having to be anywhere!

Today we're cleaning up, and enjoying leftovers! What's going on with all of you?

It's the 27th here. I'm not back at work until the 8th Jan; so I'm hoping for a slow and peaceful period. We have no real plans to do anything much except go with the flow.

We had curries and rice at my mother on Christmas Eve and I ended up with 4 adults and 1 child for Christmas lunch. Lunch was turkey, salmon, salads, roast potato, plum pudding and mango two ways.
I'm now in leftover heaven. We've finished everything except the turkey and plum pudding.

We went to the pool yesterday - weather has been brilliant here - and are going to take DS to an indoor rock climbing place today. Hopefully he manages to climb up instead of only sliding down.

I'm still in bed right now and am thinking of just chill-axing for another hour or so. As I said - real slow and go with the flow kinda of break.

Hope you're all well.

Happy New Year to y'all too.

It's NYE here and I'm going to see in the NY with my younger brother. Hope everyone has a safe one.

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope and pray that this New year brings health and happiness to all!

I'm praying 2013 is better than 2012 but I'm pretty sure it will be. Happy New Year to you all.

Good morning my wonderful friends!! Happy New Year!

I apologize in advance for being scarce around here. This time of year is really really hard for me. My dear Momma passed 8 years ago yesterday. I can always put myself where I was and what I was doing. Kind of puts me in a funk for awhile. Sorry.

We had such a nice Christmas. Those babies sure were fun. We were all together and that was awesome. New Years Eve , we went to Elizabeth and Jay's for dinner. Then yesterday we went back for lunch and a day of football. We watched 5 games yesterday. Nebraska lost - but we did alot better than I thought (and everyone else thought) we would.

Back to work this morning and am knee deep in year end work. I really shouldn't even be on this computer now, but I just couldn't let another day go by without popping in to say hi. You all are so very important to me.

WFDT ~ Cheese Ravioli, green salad and garlic cheese sticks.

Make it a great day!!

PIO - Great pics as usual. Thanks for sharing!

Lauri - I am praying this year is better for all of us, but especially you, my dear friend.

Ellen - No need to apologize here EVER. We all know the funk you speak of. Wishing we were closer at times like these because I'd be right there in a heartbeat. I'm knee deep in year end work as well.:headache:

WFD - Leftovers!!!

Happy New Year, everyone! I know it's a couple of days late, but I took a couple of days off of everything to just spend it with my kids and Alan. We had some friends come over for NYE, and that was fun!

I'm hoping that 2013 treats all of us much better! Looking forward to more positive thinking from myself, as well. That's one of my resolutions. I hate that I spent most of last year in a funk, and I'm determined not to go there again, this year!

Dinner tonight is hot dogs for some, and chicken noodle soup for others.

Morning Ladies,

Kat ~ Thanks!! You have NO idea how I wish we were closer.

Glynis ~ I so agree - no funks this year.

Love you girls!! You are the bright spot of my day.

I want to share something I made and gave to all of my volunteers here at the Church that help me. It is amazing - couldn't wait to share with all of you.

Caramel Hot Chocolate Mix

1/2 cup Dry milk
1/2 cup Carmel Macchiato Dry Coffee-Mate
1/4 cup baking cocoa
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. sea salt
1/2 cup mini choc. chips

Place all ingredients except chips in food processor. Process until mixed. Add chips, process until coarsely chopped. Makes about 2 cups of mix.

Spoon 4 Tbls. of mix into mug. Add 1 cup boining water. Mix well. ENJOY!!

Well I had better get to work. I have played long enough.

WFDT ~ Calico Bean and Chicken Soup (in crockpot) and a french baggette

Make it a great day all!!

Ellen- I'm sorry this is such a tough time of year for you, I can't imagine Christmas time without loved ones. I had to go to a funeral the week before Christmas for a family friend, his kids are my age- early thirties. I'm so happy you have three amazing grand kids to brighten the day!

Glynis- hope you are off to a good start this year. Last year went so fast I don't even remember how I felt for most of it! I'm hopping this year goes a little slower- but I know that's not going to happen.

Kathy- enjoy your leftovers, they are one of my favorite meals. We are having white bean chicken chili. It is so cold here it will hit the spot. I'm looking forward to this weekend, it's supposed to warm up to the thirties.

PIO- love the pictures! We actually were able to stay up to midnight this year, with a short nap before.

Oooo, Ellen!! That hot chocolate mix looks right up my alley!!! Can't wait to try it!

It is so cold here today! I sent the kids off to school in 7 degree weather, and then Timmy and I curled up in my bed to watch movies and snuggle!

I have book club tonight. I'm really excited to talk about this book. We read "Unbroken" by Laura Hillenbrand. I give it 5 stars! Parts of the book were hard to read, as it is the true story of Louie Zamperini who was taken prisoner in Japan during WW 2. Amazing book!!!

Because of book club, dinner will be quick and easy... tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches!
