In and Out in a Day

Good Morning!

Kat- vertigo again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does the Dr have any idea what triggers this in you? You suffer from this too often and I hope the Dr can find some remedy so that you do not deal with this again!

Glynis- so you had to trade off a messy house for a get-away? I'd take that messy house anyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope Timmy is better today.

Ellen- I do understand Doug. I would do the same thing :thumbsup2 I know..........you're supposed to do what you need to do but there are times when you just need to go to a game! How is he dong otherwise? I kow that his loss was tremendous

PIO- I hope that you get your week off! I have so much trouble getting these season differences straight :) We are in the Fall time here, which is my favorite time of the year. The leaves are just starting to turn and the nights are crispy. Pretty soon, as the sun goes down the air will have the smell of wood smoke.

Buddy's coworker died before he got to the hospital. I have to say that he was not a nice man but no one should die the way that he did. He had pulled his truck off to the side and was cleaning it. Those gates are over 400 pounds and it seems he was not following the procedures in place, although no one knows for sure yet. The next driver in line saw what he thought was a big bag of rags on the ground and pulled over. He discovered Joel and immediately called for help. It took a moment for him to realize that this was not a heart attack. He is having a very hard time, as are the rest of the crew working there. That big gate hit him on the side of his head and it was very disturbing. Another company has been called in to finish this job, they are not going back. Buddy said it was very quiet at work yesterday.

I asked Buddy what they are doing for his family and he was not sure yet. This guy's first words when a long time driver introduced himself on his first day at work were, "I'm not here to make friends." and he never really did. He would never contribute to the flower fund that the drivers set up. Things like that, just a lot of little mean-spirited actions. The drivers will not let his family know his reputation at work but it is ironic.

Lauren - Have a safe trip and good luck!!! I'll be cheering for you!

PIO - I hope you are able to get the time off. I think you made a wise decision, hope it works out! My vertigo is allergy related, according to my doctor. Thankfully the medication works, it's an awful feeling.

WFD - Pan seared pork chops with a balsamic spinach sauce, mashed potatoes and green bean & artichoke casserole.

Nan - We must have been posting at the same time! That is such a tragic accident. It's a shame he was the way he was, must be miserable to live like that. Still, no one deserves to die that way.

Good morning! Just popping in to see who is out and about today!

Lauren - Good luck tomorrow!!! I'll be cheering you on!!!

Kathy - I'm glad the allergy meds work, but still, ick on the vertigo! I can't imagine going through it as much as you do!

PIO - I hope that you get the time off that you need. I'm sure it will do wonders for your stress level, as well as any lingering cough that you have. Enjoy your spring!!

Nancy - What a terrible tragedy! It's tough to know what to do in those situations. He may have been a mean guy, but his family will still be grieving.

Not sure what we are doing for dinner last night. Probably chicken. Last night's dinner turned out to be microwaved leftovers! The big light in my kitchen burned out and it was too dark to see well in there! Alan tried to change the bulbs (way too big for me to handle) for me, but they are still not working this morning. Good thing he gets home from work/school early today!

Nancy, I am sorry to hear about Buddy's coworker. I can only imagine how disturbing that must have been.

PIO, enjoy your time off! Sometimes staycations are the best.

Kathy, sorry to hear about your vertigo. I get that sometimes from alleriges too, when my sinuses get filled up. It's no fun!

Lauren, good luck in the race!

Lauri, I am glad that you have a trip planned too.

I actually took a picture of dinner last night! But I haven't uploaded it yet

WFD tonight: udon noodle bowl with shiitake mushrooms, snow peas, tofu, carrot, scallion, and poached egg.

Busy busy day here. We have another funeral here at the Church. Plus it is Payroll and Bill day. Good grief. Plus all Wednesday night activities - Shoot me NOW!! :dance3:

WFDT ~ OUT - enough said!!

Make it a great day!

Becky - Can't wait to see your food porn, it's been way too long!

Ellen - I hope things slow down for you soon.

WFD - Taco pizza

Happy birthday, Nancy!!!! Have a wonderful day!

Today is a runaround day for me! I have to go to a high school about an hour and a half away, to pull costumes for our high school's fall play, White Christmas. For some insane reason, I agreed to work as costume director. Don't know why... I can't sew a lick! Oh well.

Dinner tonight will be macaroni and cheese with chili. Nothing inspiring, just easy and filling, and my kids will eat it.

Morning girlies,

Nan ~ Happy happy birthday to one of the most wonderful women. I hope your day is magical.

Glynis ~ You will do just fine as the costume director. With your vision and determination it will be perfect. I can't wait to hear all about it.

Kat ~ how are you feeling today my friend?

The weather has really turned to fall. The trees are starting to turn. But as dry as we have been I don't think they will be very pretty. Fall has to be one of my favorite seasons. I love it!

WFDT ~ Creamy Potato and cheese soup and Cornbread fritters. Total comfort/fall food.

Make it a great day!!

Happy birthday Nan....:cool1:

Glynis - a wee bit late but Im glad Jacob got his bullying issue sorted out.
Going to big school is such a massive deal and it just takes one wee thing to knock the bairns confidence.
His school seems to have it finger on the pulse and that must be a great relief.
We had a meeting at the boys school last week to get to know the guidance teachers and I have to say I was very impressed.
School seems to have come a long way since I my day.
I was bullied bad my 5 years of high school and it ruined my schooling and pretty much my teenage years.
I never told anyone but Im quite confident if it was happening to me now the school would pick up on it anyways.

It is fall here as well and I love it! I think our fall show will be gorgeous this year, we have had rain and hopefully in time for whatever chemical reaction has to happen for those leaves to change. We are all kind of looking back at last year. No show. No Halloween. No nothin'! except snow.

Today is a runaround day for me! I have to go to a high school about an hour and a half away, to pull costumes for our high school's fall play, White Christmas.

My absolute favorite Christmas movie! I know the play will be fabulous as will the costumes!

Nancy - Happy Belated Birthday. Hope you were spoilt silly!

I was! Last night the "girls" and Buddy took me to Red Robin. We had so much fun enjoying Nola and Rylee, especially now that Kady is getting to be so grown up. Tonight we are heading to the BIG E so I am not cooking, cleaning or studying tonight. Just eating :thumbsup2. Tomorrow night Buddy is taking all of us to my current favorite restaurant for dinner.

Thank you all once again for your Happy Birthday wishes! I am always happy to come here every day but some days make me think more about what you all mean to me. Yesterday was one of those days :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Its been another full week at work.
Remember how I thought I was taking a week off to coincide with when DH was going away for work? Well it turns out that DH trip has now shifted to early November.

That's the week of Melbourne Cup (yes, we actually have a public holiday for a 3 minute horse race)....
So...opinions please. Do I hope on a plane and go with DH or do I stay home with DS? :rotfl:

(Let's just forget about that $$$ thing for now....)

PIO - That's a tough question! However, I think I would go with my hubby!! I love to travel, and we don't get to do enough of it, together. Would your DS be alright while you are gone? Will family step in and help out with him? If so, I say go and have fun!!!

Nancy - I hate working in the rain, too. I'd much rather be snuggled under a blanket with a good book and something warm to drink!

Well, my trip to get costumes was very productive! The high school we had to get to was out in the middle of nowhere, but they had gorgeous costumes!!! I was able to get costumes for all the big dance numbers for our "ensemble" of dancers, a couple of costumes for one of our lead girls, and all the gorgeous red/white costumes for the finale. That includes 2 fur capes (floor length) that the 2 female leads will wear! They are so amazing, and cost 400 dollars EACH! I told my director that those capes are not leaving my possession until they absolutely have to!!! And I will be waiting offstage to whisk them back to safety after each performance!

Tomorrow morning, I'll be heading to our high school's costume storage unit to see what is available to pull there. Once that's done, I'll start fitting them to the kids, and setting up the costume check out space. I'm running things a bit differently than has been done before, and I hope it works out.

No idea what the kids will have for dinner. Alan wants to take me out. The kids will probably end up with soup and sandwiches, unless Katie wants to make pancakes.

Have a great day, everyone!

Ellen – Hooray for fall! We don’t have seasons down here, just hot and cold. Currently, still HOT! I would love to see fall leaves…:cloud9:

Vickie – Bullying makes me so mad. I am SO sorry you had to deal with that. So glad schools are much more aware of it now and taking steps to stop it early.

Nan – Sounds like you’ll have a few days of birthday celebration…enjoy, you deserve every minute of it!

PIO – I’m with Glynis. I never turn down a chance to travel…go girl!!!!!!!

Glynis – Those costumes sound gorgeous! Can we get a pic?

I’m feeling much better. The meds pretty much kick in right away, thankfully! Today is hair appointment and mani/pedi day. Tonight is our night out, going to one of Johnny's favorite spots:

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Vickie – Bullying makes me so mad. I am SO sorry you had to deal with that.

Its ok Kat, it was a loooooong time ago.
The bully was a boy and I was such a wee thing at high school punchin him in the mouth wasnt an option.
I did get my own back years later when we met in a club.....but thats another story. ;)

It was a night mare but safe to say its made me the lassie I am today, not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing tho !!!

Vick - You'll have to tell me the club story one day. I'd love to hear how that went down. It made you who you are today and I love you so I'd say it all worked out.

Glynis - Glad that your costume hunt was very productive. They sound gorgeous! I'd love to see pictures.

Kat - Glad that you're feeling better. That superior seafood place looks amazing! Hope the food matched your newly coiffed hair and super shiny nails! Where is Nail.Cam when you REALLY need it????

Vickie - I'm with Kat. One of these days, I'd love to hear that story of you and the bully.

Well.....sometimes things move with amazing speed. I need to check with work to see if I can take the time off....but it looks like I might be heading out to visit CarsLand solo. I'll catch up with DH a couple of days later and we'll travel onwards to San Francisco.
Seems that I have a couple of DisMeets already planned out. :goodvibes
If work is okay with it, I'll be gone for about 9 days. :thumbsup2
