We have been the WDW many times in the past 10 years, but have always flown. Hubby falls asleep easily at the wheel, and the 4 kids get car sick, I do as well, unless I'm driving. Needless to say driving has always sounded horrible to us. We either fly out of YYZ or BUF. This year we had a "busy" year I guess you could call it, and I missed the release of summer flights by SE and Jetblue and have been playing the "should I book" game ever since...now we are 3 weeks out and I am in panic mode..I just keep hoping AC, WJ, SW or Jetblue will have last minute sales to get rid of seats..Has anyone had experience with booking last minute flights? To make matters worse, we are kind of flexible going down, but we kind of have to return on a Friday, as we return from our cruise that day after our WDW stay..I just dont feel comfortable at the thought of driving down, but may have to come to accept it..:sad2:

Unfortunately you may be out of luck this close out for any kind of seat sale. If you are three weeks out, I'm assuming that means the last week of June/beginning of July? That is a very busy travel time with school coming to end and the combination of Canada Day/4th of July, which means many people are going to be travelling and there are probably not too many empty seats.

I like Kayak for searching for flight deals, you can set up an alert. Or keep checking expedia, as they will show any seat sales as well!

Hi there, not sure where u are or your dates. I am not sure flint, grand rapids or Detroit, mi would be drive able. We fly from Flint often I did a quick search for random dates July 3rd to 10 the and they were $140 each way. Rochester new York also had some decent flights to Tampa and Orlando. I have flown from there as well. These are all on Southwest.

We are just east of GTA, June 26/27-July10..I never thought of Rochester, not sure how much further that is from BUF airport.

The issue will will be the outgoing flight as that is one of the busiest travel weekends of the year with the end of school. The return leg may be better. So you may have to get creative and fly down with one carrier and back with another!

In terms of Rochester, it is about another hour or so east of Buffalo.

If you are willing to fly Rochester you should probably also consider SYR (Syracuse NY). Not sure how far East you are but running the numbers from Cobourg, ON it's about 3.5 hours to SYR and 4 hours to ROC (and the biggest city you traverse is Kingston). JetBlue generally has reasonable flights direct from Syracuse.

I'm guessing since your travel dates are near July 4th, that you're not going to have much luck getting sale, since that's a prime travel time. Have you looked into Allegiant? They fly out of Niagra Falls/Buffalo (IAG). June 26th to July 10th is $258.50 round trip, US$. Now you get 1 free carry on, but do have to pay $35 per checked bag, each day, so that does add on. But again, not sure how that compares to other places.

We have never taken Allegiant, I did check it the other day..with one bag and the exchange is about $400, but I keep thinking what if something comes out from AC or WJ for under $400??? So tricky..im so upset i waited so long..:guilty:

We liked Allegiant. Yes the baggage fees are crazy. But might work out in your favou . Not sure you will see the others drop that much.

We are in Durham, would IAG be closer than BUF for us or further? And, is it a tiny airport like BUF?

Its even smaller like a lot smaller. We loved it. One other thing is it doesn't fly in Orlando. It flies into Sanford (sfb) is the code. I would think Niagara Falls is closer. Google it.

The flights on Air Canada on those dates already look very full (you can tell by what type of fares are available). I don't see how a seat sale on AC or WJ will get the pricing down to anywhere near what you want to spend to fly direct.

Booking Allegiant leaving the 27th looks to be even cheaper than the 26th.

If you want to fly out of Pearson, you can fly one of the US based airlines with a connection for about $450 Canadian a person.
