We had an errand at WDW yesterday morning. DH wanted to stop at the Poly and see about eating breakfast at Kona's or try Captain Cook's. (He had a Tonga Toast craving.)
We were surprised to see the upstairs area crammed with guests. We have seen this area PLENTY busy before. But this was beyond that even.
There was a 30+ minute wait to be seated at Kona. (Which we though odd as there were already plenty of tables for two empty. )
The wait time did not bother us. But we decided why wait and spend the extra $ when Captain Cook's was a short walk downstairs?
Captain Cook's was plenty busy too. But bithing unmanageable. It really did not take us long to order and get our food.
I had a Mickey waffle with bacon on the side. I don't know if it was suppose to have a strawberry sauce on the side. But I did not get any, and did not really care as I guessed it would just be mashed up frozen strawberries anyway.
I also had a yogurt parfait. :thumbsup2
DH ate the Tonga Toast.
We both had a small OJ to drink.
DH said the Tonga Toast from Captain Cook's was greasy, and what TT he has eaten in Kona is not.
Now whether it was just by chance, or the difference between a cook and a chef, timing or whatever, but that was his observation.
On the other hand we probably paid half in Captain Cook's as we would in Kona. And we were in and out in no time.
Certainly worth a good quick breakfast stop. :coffee:

Good to know, thanks for posting.
