Impromptu 1 Day at Magic Kingdom!!! Advice Please!

Ahhhh!!! I'm so excited. We got to take advantage of Frontier Airline's $20 airfare offer on New Years Eve and are suddenly headed to FL! I'm so excited that my daughter and I are going to get one day at Disney World (which is obviously NOT enough, but I'll take what I can get!)

We will be doing the day at MK on 1/14. Of course, that is very close and I'm assuming that most of the desirable fast passes are probably gone. So I'm wondering If I should just wait to buy my tickets once I get there. If I decide to buy them online and pick them up at will call I assume I'll get some sort of code that I can use to check on Fast Pass availability?

I do see on the EasyWDW crowd calendar for that day is only a level 2!! So, that will obviously be a benefit to us.

Also, since this will be our first time getting to ride the Mine Train, I'm assuming that we should book it to Fantasyland at Rope Drop. My Daughter is 13, so we probably won't spend all morning in FL, but we may also want to get Peter pan out of the way right away too, then move on to Frontier or Tomorrow land. Will it be a CRAZY mad dash for Mine Train even on a level 2 day?

Yes it will be a crazy mad dash for 7DMT. Even on level 2 day 90% of people at RD are either going to A&E or 7DMT. Enjoy your trip.

Hopefully most will be going to A&E!! LOL. We got to see A&E last spring when they were still in Epcot (waited 3+ hrs!) so at least that is not on our list of "to dos."

So, other than getting Mine Train done first thing, I think we will have a pretty relaxing time.

I just checked availability for party of 2 on 1/14 and nearly everything is available. Even 7DMT for an evening time. Why not buy tickets now?

If you don't buy your tickets ahead of time, you just book your FP by tapping your card at a kiosk.
