Important Mummy Information

DM;
A quick question about the "absolutely no carry on items" policy. There is no way I am going to leave my wallet in the lockers. Do they expect people to do that? Or is it OK to have your wallet in your pants pocket?
Also, do you think these rules will loosen up by the grand opening? It seems aweful extreme that they won't allow fanny packs on this ride when you can wear them on Hulk, DD, the water rides, etc.

They weren't checking pockets. I know my husband had his wallet in his backpocket and keys in the side pocket. It was no problem. i think they are enforcng carry-ons only.

Do the lockers lock??? Do you need to put quarters in or something? I can't see leaving my camera and camcorder, money, etc. in an open locker. Is this how all the rides at Universal are?

hi does anyone no if they will stil be doing the tr on april the 25th or later as thats when im going and afraid i will miss out and not be able 2 ride it

Employees don't check pockets at all. One time, I was standing in line and I saw like 5 people with their cellphones yet. They mainly care about what you're carrying, no strip searching going on ;)

I saw those lockers up close for the first time yesterday, the fingerprint thing seemed weird to me.

Thanks, DM - it scares the living daylights out of me just reading about it, but I just KNOW I've got to do it!

Splash Mountain scares me to death, yet I still do it. The free fall on Mummy isn't near as scary to me.
Thanks for this phamton - I'm exactly the same, so this really helps. :p

Can you have a picture with Anuck-su-nu-mon without that danged Imhopet around?
Thanks for all the info!!

At one point yesterday as I was entering the RotM building through the Single Riders line, Imhotep and the hot chick were on their way out as I was entering. It was bizarre, as I had no idea if I should have said or done something, they were staring at me too. Ok, end of boring story ;)

Now where is the part where a mummy jumps on to your car? I thought I read that somewhere!

I know this was mentioned in one of the original press releases (I think), but this effect is not in USF's version of the ride. Last I heard, it may be in USH's version, but if they use the same type of cars, I don't see this effect being feasible or realistic.

Thanks for the information. Bummer, but I am sure the rest of the attraction will more than make up for this.

The lockers are free for an hour and yes, they lock (they aren't called lockers for no reason)

After that, they take coins and credit cards.

I'm sorry, I hope this wasn't a stupid question. But we have "lockers" in our University bookstore when you enter - they don't want you taking backpacks into the bookstore. But they do not lock. They expect you just to stick your stuff in there and anyone is free to take it!!!!

There would be NO WAY I would leave my camera, money, etc. in an open locker.

No, it wasn't a stupid question. Many schools have non-locking lockers. Doesn't seem like they should be called lockers if they don't lock though. ;)

But these lock and use your fingerprint to identify the person who rents the locker so no one else can open your locker. If they had a key and you lost it, then anyone could open it, but with the fingerprint ID, they are very safe. You can keep your money with you, in your pocket but you'll need to lock your camera up.

The no carry-ons is because it is a major safety issue. If it's in your pocket (wallet, keys, cellphone), then it's okay, it just might get a little squished by the restraint. :p

h20jag-You can try. ;)

That was in the original description and I do not think it will come to pass. Just like the flames "within inches" they are 8' - 10' away and it is a small brainflame " that quikly rolls across the ceiling.

Just returned from a great visit - We rode The Mummy 10 times. What a great ride.

I would think it would be kinda scary for little kids (under 10) IMHO, we don't have children, but the effects are wild!

There are individual seat restraints and the best advice I can give you is to keep your head back against the head rest at all times. It is in the dark, so you can't tell how fast or steep it is. You will love it - I think it's the best:)
I don't want to give anything away because that is half the fun.

You will want to ride it more than once though:)

The mummy jumping on your car is at the Hollywood ride.
