Important Mummy Information

We were able to go on Mummy each day of our 3 day visit last Sun-Tuesday!!! I was SO excited when I got to the park and found that it was still in TR. My kids (the 3 that were tall enough) all liked it and were happy that we had to do the baby swap so that they could ride it extra times.

It's a good ride. I'm glad that Universal finally has a coaster that doesn't go upside down that isn't a little kid coaster. It was a welcome addition for sure.

I had fun having staring contests with the Mummy guys, especially Jason and Michael. My daughter thought that it was funny that I liked the staring challenge.

What is on the baseball cap in one of the first rooms on the ride?

FYI, Mummy was opened all day today (Monday). I am pretty sure it will be opened all this week.

YES!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
Here we come--I am SO psyched!!!

So is it finished? I want to see if I could get out there soon!

You have until Saturday to see it in its current mode. After Saturday, it's closing for a few weeks...

That's funny!

My kids could point out what was working and not working on their various trips through. They went on it 7 times (because of the baby swap) and were more observant than me. I was too busy just taking it all in. Fun ride!!!

I probably won't be back to Universal for quite a while and I was so doing the happy dance my first time in the queue. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Just back and was at USO on April 7th. Got to ride the mummy 4 times. My kids (10 and 7) just loved it and wanted to keep riding it. I thought the ride was good, but I wish the last segment was longer and scarier. Great theming, but the audio voices were difficult to understand so it was hard to follow the ride "story".

Did you watch the queue video? The queue video is vital in the set-up of the story.

Plus it's funny!

Just wondering, if May 21st is supposed to be the offical opening, will there we some special events going on???? Do you think the park will be extra crowded???? We will be there the 21st, and 22nd and don't want to miss anything. Anyone know ?? Thanks

There will be a grand opening event. Not certain what it is, but if Shrek got a respectable grand opening, this event should then be fairly significant.

I am soooooooooooo bummed... We will be there May 13th and 14th... Ahhhh well... there will always be another trip... but I also missed the opening of ToT at MGM by 2 weeks way back in 93.

Ooh! I went on the Mummy ride the last day we were there, which would be this past thursday(the 15th of April). It was me(16 years) my two bros and their friend(all 13) and we had just gone through the carni games and won things there(go fuzzy hats! :teeth: ) As we walked up, there was a big stream of people, and lots of yelling and such, and we found out that the ride had just reopened for the day. A guy with a bull horn was calling out the things you mention, everything must be stowed in a locker, yadda yadda. We all got in line, sans fuzzy hats and other stuff we won.

The time outside is way way wrong. If it says like 10-20 min line wait, it is tons longer. Even though we were close to the front, it took about 20 mins to get even close. Then, the ride had dificulties, as of which they didn't know how long it would be, but because the line for it yesterday was 90mins, we decided to take our chances, and the line was moving up from all the people leaving every min. or so. That went on for about 25 mins, until they said we all had to leave, as it would be lots longer.

We came back later that night, because I was determined to ride it before lots of others, and it was my last day, and it was open. We waited for about 45mins(even though it said 20) to get on. The CM do a good job with their little acting bits, and the ride is really worth it. It's really cool, and not as bad as a roller coaster as i was afraid it would be. Like a more adult Space Mountain. The seats are a little small though, as the lady in front of my row had a trick getting in(not to be mean, but it's the truth) and if you don't like the fire or your kids are afraid of it(like at the Jaws ride, like my bros were when they were little) I would suggest keeping them in the middle or the cart, as it does get hot.

I loved the ride, and thought they did a really good job! I even got a t-shirt from it!
