Since Mummy is in TR mode, I'm sure many people will be having questions, and I can answer a few well in advance. ;) Of course, some of them may have already been asked/answered in other threads. :p

-No carry-on items of any kind are permitted. No bags, no cameras, no video cameras, no fanny packs/hip pouches, no purses, no merchandise bags, no stuffed animals, no food or drink, no souviner cups, no bottles, nothing. This is strictly enforced.

-It is a rollercoaster. There are no inversions, but there are turns, banks, and drops, and a launch that sends you up to 40mph. This is why you'll be told to hang on to hats/loose sunglasses.

-It can be scary if you dont like falling, the dark, fire, bugs, mummies, or rollercoasters. It is more fun and exciting than anything else.

-For child swap, those who are riding enter the line. Those that are waiting go into the gift shop, up the exit ramp, and into the waiting room. There is a mummy cartoon movie being played in there. :)

-The line is fully accessible to standard wheelchairs, not ECVs.

-During TR mode, the ride may shut down at any time, for any amount of time, for any reason, and may not return to operation for the day. Days/hours of operation vary each day, so there is no guarantee of being able to ride it. If you get to, then have fun. If you don't get to, don't worry. The Grand Opening is in May.

-Express is not available during TR mode. The single riders line is.

That should about cover it. :)

Thanks, DM, for taking the time to post all that good information. I just wish I could be there and try it all out!! It sounds fabulous and fun!!

Since Fly fly isn't here, I will ask this question on her behalf: Any hot guys as ride ops?:p

Thanks DM!

I must say that in the 3 times I have visited the aprk and ridden RotM in the past week, I have been impressed with almost all of the employees and the TR in general. Despite the two evacuations yesterday, the ride seems to be running well. I also think the "acting" of the minions at the loading station is great and adds quite a bit to the ride. I can't wait until Grand Opening.

Besides Dark Marauder, I can think of at least one other. ;)

Hmmmmm............ I wonder  lol!

Bev- how many rides have you gotten in? I rode my 38th today!

I've only ridden 10 times. I'm way behind you guys.

Thanks DM........... as always a good bird is a useful bird.......... or is it a bird in the bush, or a bird in the hand........... oh well, either way, I'm glad you shared the info!!! Can't wait to get there!!!

How big of a "drop" on the coster? How would you compare this indoor coaster to Dinosaur at the AK? (I know Dinosaur doesn't blast you out at 40mph ....)

It's in the dark, so you really can't see it or tell how tall. It's less than 30 feet, though, or so I have been told.

I've only been on Dinosaur once, and that was when it was still CTX. I'd have to re-ride Dinosaur to get a feel for it. It's easier to compare to Space Mountain, but considerably more intense.

Forgot to add:

-There is more legroom in the back. If you're over 6'4", it is recommended that you sit in the 3rd or 4th row.

-There is a test seat out front. Larger guests should test this seat, as the restraints must come down to the same level, regardless of row. *Sometimes* being in the back works better, because there is more legroom.

-There is an Imhotep walk-around and he finally gets his girl. Anck-Su-Namun is usually with him out front.

-There is an on-ride photo.

Not a big fan of bugs myself - what type and how prominent are they? Are they a big enough feature to ruin the ride?

Not even allowed to have fannypacks?? What do you do with them while riding?

Are you saying there is a "character" meet and greet with imhotep? Fun!

Maggie

There are free lockers to put fanny packs in while you ride the Mummy.

As far as bugs, I wouldn't worry. I have a fear of beetles and cockroaches and it didn't bother me at all. They are just plastic bugs and don't come close to you. You can ask to sit in the back and then they won't even be close at all.

A few questions ::wave::

We are going in June so I know the ride should be open.

# 1) My kidletts want to ride :hyper: and I can't find a confirmed height restriction yet- it keeps ranging from 48 to 54 inches- do you know what the true answer is? They are 52 and 52.5 inches in height

# 2) does each person have their own restraint belt or bar or is it community shared- I am a Pooh sized princess princess: and they aren't - one weighs 82 lbs and my super thin one only weighs 68 lbs

--of the 2 drops one forward and one backward -

# 2) is the backward one slow, straight and steady or fast, curvy and jerky? --they are the most afraid of the backward one- is it truely a drop or just a back tracking slide?

# 3) Mom is nervous about the foreward one I don't like free falls straight down or straight forward-:earseek: is the forward drop banked or curved to the side like in fire and ice or straight down like say splash mtn in WDW or ToT??

TIA for any info - I'd like to say Yes ::yes:: or No now so they don't hope for 3 months to find out they are too small to ride !

I can answer a few of the questions
1. The height restriction is 48 inches
2. There are individual restraints
3. The forward drop is only about 30 feet that is way shorter than Splash Mountain or Tot, you shouldn't worry about it.

I'm not sure about the backward part but my impression is that it is more fun than scary.

Thanks-
My DS (8) hated the last drop on splash mtn- the pic was worth a thousand words ::yes::- I tried to keep him off but he insisted that he ride- I knew he wouldn't like the drop-I felt a bit guilty but sometimes life experiences are better teachers then Moms! We never laughed so hard in our lives as when we saw his face :earseek:- we had to buy the photo- I know it's mean to laugh at terrified kids but he was all brave and "I'm not scared to ride this" until we got off- he has since not only changed his mind but is nervous about all the fast rides now.

ROTM is dark he may not be quite as frightened to ride it.:earsboy:

It similar to going backwards on Maelstrom but the drop is about like the first (forward) drop on Pirates... not a big drop but a drop.

# 3) Mom is nervous about the foreward one I don't like free falls straight down or straight forward- is the forward drop banked or curved to the side like in fire and ice or straight down like say splash mtn in WDW or ToT??

It is a free fall straight down with a little airtime "butt off the seat". It is not as long as Splash but a little scary. Luckily you are looking at Imhotep with fog to the side and don't see the drop until you are in it. After the straight down drop, it curves. Splash Mountains scares me to death, yet I still do it. The free fall on Mummy isn't near as scary to me.

Thanks to all of you!!!!!

:hyper: ::yes:: ::yes:: :hyper:we can handle those drops- I can't wait- we love to try new things. I'll tell the boys- they'll be thrilled that they can ride.
