Important For Those Applying For the DAS System

This is especially those who are new to the DAS system and applying for it. Hopefully this clarifies why it may be very strict.

The DAS system is only for those who have a diagnosed disability that effectively and compelling prevents them from physically waiting in the standby line. The DAS system is based on a compelling need for it and not based on the diagnosis. The person who is applying for it needs to be very specific about their legitimate actual need for the system and explain the compelling nature of their needs (such as any actual negative experiences). Just telling the cast member what you are diagnosed with is not sufficient. The DAS system is not for mobility conditions and conditions that can be mitigated by a wheelchair or an ECV.

No official diagnosis is required. In fact, WDW would prefer that any diagnosis be left out of the conversation. Just be prepared to explain the needs related to a standard queue environment and how those needs prevent you from waiting in the queue.
