Important: FastPass Info for Evening EMH

Sounds like the MK EMH is definitely worth checking out. :D Thanks for posting so much great info on these new EMH's. We'll be down there in just 2 weeks & changed around our schedule so we'd have the ability to check out the new EMH's at each park. Sounds like it should work out well - thanks again & enjoy your trip!!! :D

Yes, the park was slow all day yesterday. Yippee! :)

Some more info: Here are the restaurants that are open on EMH evenings:

MK: CRT, Cosmic Ray's, LTT, and Pecos Bill all open until 10pm
Epcot: Cantina de San Angel, Electric Umbrella open until closing, San Angel Inn open until 10pm
MGM: Backlot Express until 8:30pm, 50's Prime Time, Sci Fi open until 8pm, Catalina Eddie's and Rosie's open until closing
Animal Kingdom: Rainforest, Pizzafari, and Restaurantosaurus all open until closing

Official Wristband Pickup Sites:
MK: Main Entrance, Castle Forecourt, Timekeeper, Seven Dwarfs Mine, Liberty Square Riverboat Landing, Caribbean Plaza
Epcot: Main Entrance, Future World East Breezeway, Future World West Breezeway, International Gateway, Mexico Bridge
MGM: Main Entrance, ABC TV Theater, entrance ramp to Fantasmic
Animal Kingdom: Main Entrance, It's Tough to Be a Bug Fastpass Location, Harambe School in Africa, Entrance to Asia, DinoLand USA near the Boneyard

That's probably it for me! We take off on the cruise on Saturday. Wishing all of you the best on your upcoming trips! :)

Just to clarify: FastPasses are issued at EMH whenever demand for an attraction warrants it. If lines are short (generally less than 30 minutes), they shut down the FastPass Distribution. If lines are a bit longer, they open them up again at 7pm. Generally, the window for riding is much closer than during the day (many times in just 20-30 minutes).

Have fun! :)

We were also at MGM for the first "official" extra magic hour at any of the parks. Our trip spanned the transition from pre-new year to after new years. I saw a few people being turned away from rides due to not having the wristband. While they could not ride the rides, people who were not Disney Hotel Guests still hung around the park thinking it was open to them too, or just taking advantage of being able to walk around and shop. Lines were almost non-existent.

You hit my problem on the head. We went to Fantasmic and then did the EMH. In retrospect, I would definitely recommend that you attend Fantasmic a different night than EMH nights. I'll bet the lines were non-existent during Fantasmic.

As for when you can get your next FastPass, it is the same as during the day (one minute after your ride window opens). Good luck to all! Tomorrow we'll try the new strategies at Magic Kingdom! :)
We were at MGM on 1/3. We tried to ride the Great Movie Ride. That had a line of 25-35 minutes at just after 7. The CM suggested coming back in 20 minutes or so when the non- EMH people cleared out. When we came back, it was just as bad.
We walked onto Sounds Dangerous, but that's not crowded anyway. We went back to see the Osborne lights and didn't actually ride anything else.
