Hi All,

Never encountered this before so appreciate experience of those who have been there done that.

We have a September 2020 reservation using 94 points borrowed from a December 2020 Use Year contract.

If we put in a waitlist for the same September 2020 dates for a reservation that is only 64 points, using the same December Use Year contract, and it comes through, what happens to the 30 borrowed points we no longer need? :wave2:

Thank you.:worship:

You will have to use the 30 points during the 2019 UY as they cant be moved backed or banked once borrowed. We just had this same situation with around 20 points so we rented them on these boards.

They stay in the use year into which they have been borrowed and you must use them for a trip that ends no later than November 30, 2020, or they will expire.

The reservation will first pull from banked and then borrowed points. Then any remaining needed points will come from your Dec 2019 UY. Unused points, if from the current UY can be banked if the waitlist comes thru before July 31, 2019. Otherwise, they will need to be used by Nov. 30, 2019 or you will lose them.

If the entire reservation is booked on borrowed points, and you change it to a reservation using less points, those will be returned to your 2019 UY..the UY of your trip...and expire, as mentioned, November 30th.

This Is one of the drawbacks of traveling later in the UY with borrowed points as you do Not have a lot of time to use them up if you change things around,

Also be aware that if you have the waitlist me through less than 31 days from check in, not only would they be borrowed points, but they would be in holding, which means only available for bookings 60 days or less than check in,

I would think they would need to be used before the end of November. Once points get borrowed or banked they cannot be moved back. At least that's what we were told.
