Impact of Grad Night on Regular Guests?

We will be staying at the Grand Californian during one of May's Grad Nights. Has anyone had experience with this?

yes, the park will be open something like 12:00pm to 6:00am for grad night guests only. It shouldnt effect regular guests at all.

The parks will close early on those nights to regular guests, so there will be an impact. I would have to guess that with DCA open all night there would be some noise issues with the GCH. But this is speculation, not from personal experience.

My daughter will be there for grad night on Thursday, May 24th. Grad nite takes place in DL and DCA is not open. I chaperoned a grad nite a couple of years ago...it was amazing! So energized with "rock" and "pop" songs playing throughout the night and then right at 6am it was quiet with the CMs busy cleaning up for a new day to begin.

I was there during Grad night last year. I don't recall it having any affect on our time there that day/night. We have gone for the last three years in May and haven't had any problems with those nights. The grad nights are from 10p - 4a, and I think they are almost all on a Thursday night, so DL closes at 9pm that night. It closes two hours earlier than on a regular night.

Mikayla: What has been your experience with May crowds since you have been before? We have a trip planned for 5/9-5/12. I am figuring Fri. and Sat. will be busy but I am guessing that Wed. and Thurs. should be a typical off season day?

I don't think they have been bad, especially during the week. We have been going the last week of May. Of course the weekend is busier, but we make use of FP when needed. I have seen them run out of them on Indy and Splash, but that was on a weekend later in the afternoon. I haven't been to DL during the really busy times, but I think that May is a perfect time to go. We are late enough to miss spring break crowds and early enough to miss the summer crowds. The weather is beautiful, but then it is So Cal! Have a great trip!

Yeah, i noticed that too, the park seemed very different, and very Entergetic with the music going on.
