Immigration worry

so this has been worrying me for a while now,

we are taking Jordan and Joely, our nieces, but what do we do at immigration (sorry my spellings poor)? the girls will go through with me as we share the same surname and Chris goes through alone.

Do I need a letter from their parents to say they allow them to be with me?

Also how do I go on with Jordan? she doesn't speak or write, so if immigration asks her a question theres no way she will answer, (though she may say mouse lol)

Do the girls also need to be on a different immigration form to me? as they live at a different address even though there tickets are under my address?

sorry again but as its getting closer I am starting to panic.

Plus I will have to go through Chris being hauled away by immigration for an hour like he always is (as Chris smith must be the most common name on the planet, and someone with his name and year of birth was deported from Florida apparently so he gets dragged in every year)

If they have the same surname as you, and they go through immigration with you, then there will be no problem, Immigration are not to know that they are not your children/Sisters.
again, the passports do not have an address on them, you just put your address where required.
You do not say how old they are?
Under a certain age, they do not have to be photogrpahed or fingerprinted anyway.

Would it not be worth your partner getting a Visa to stop the pull in every time? i.e. dispense with the Visa waiver and get a visa?

Even with the same surname I would still take a letter from their parents just in case.
As Obi says immigration won't know they are not your children, but if they get ill it may be a good idea to have a letter giving you authority to give permission for treatment etc.
A doctors letter giving details of your nieces medical problems (and medication if she takes any) may also be a good idea - again just in case.

Then if there are any problems you have everything there to sort it out

Anna, If I were you I would get a letter too. just to be on the safe side really, then if any thing were to come up then you are covered.

Yes, sorry Goofyfish, you are right. I was only looking at Immigration.
Added to that, are they covered by your health insurance or do they have their own?
Do you have a letter giving permission for action to be taken health wise by you on behalf of your (sister??) ?

I have bought them both their own insurance policys, which took some doing as not many firms will just cover the kids.

I will look into the visa for chris as I am a bag of nerves every time they take him away.

I will definatly get letters, especially for if they get sick and need treating
