Does anyone know what the latest time is for clearing immigration at St Thomas? We are UK citizens - does that make any difference to how, when or where we are seen? We are trying to organise an excursion and are not sure what would be the earliest time we could schedule.

I just read that those with the earliest excursions are cleared first. For example, if your meeting time for your excursion is 7:40, you will go to immigration from 6:00 to 6:30 and then so on. All clearances are done by a certain time. I guess that would be 7:30.

I think that is probably true for Disney excursions but this is an independent one. Sorry, I should have made that clearer.

Karen believe it or not being a non U.S. citizen will work to your advantage in St. Thomas.
We had a non Disney excursion to get to as well. The immigration people were late and we had to tender in (that will make a difference). There are SO many U.S. citizens on the ship that it was a zoo for them in the Walt Disney Theatre while the rest of us (I'm British and DW and DD are Canadian) in Wave Bands were out relatively quickly in comparison.
My suggestion is get there 10 - 15 minutes before the suggested time and you'll be fine.

With all of the things that could go wrong (Trust me on that one) we were on the dock getting a cab at around 0850 hours.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Thanks, Grumbo. The place we need to get to is about a 20 minute taxi ride from the dock so I guess we will ask for a 9.30 start.

We went for a sailboat ride "The Jester". We rented it for our group of 6 and the traffic is VERY busy. If you dock as opposed to tendering you probably will be off in earlier, but they don't announce that until the month of your cruise.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Grumbo, that is exactly what we were thinking of doing. I sent you a PM.

Karen--we sailed on Jester too in April. It was fantastic. A nice relaxing excursion. My SIL wanted to give up teaching and buy a sailboat. I love Captain Jim's CD he plays. Great sailing music.

The taxi ride back took a bit longer because of all the traffic. Keep that in mind when planning a return time.
