On this third day of the trip, our breakfast PS for Spoodles was 7:30, and ..
for reasons I still can't figure, I got up EARLY and decided I was going to
actually 'do' my hair! LOL DUMB move, because w/n about an hour & a half from
leaving the room, my straw hat went from in my hand to on my head, and stayed
there the rest of the day! LOL In fact, I don't think I had my hair down
again except for maybe once or twice the rest of the trip! Why after all
these years do I EVER try to "do" anything with it there I don't know! LOL
Call me an eternal optomist? Or just plain silly! LOL
After breakfast, we walked over to Epcot. I REALLY do NOT see why the WS
isn't all open at the same time as Future World, I truly don't, and I wish it
was!!
While I like FW certainly .. I like the WS a bit better, and it's so nice in
the morning too.
But, it's not open, so we proceeded to FW, and went in Innoventions first. I
sent some email postcards, and the boys played around with some cool games.
I could spend hours in here if Dave didn't get so darned antsy! LOL It's NOT
one of HIS favorite places .. I don't know why! As the boys & I were leaving
that area, we encountered something (or I should say "someone") funny -- this
caveman outside in the area that's covered there. He was a riot!! He didn't
speak, just sort of grunted .. he had on faux leopard skin garb, wild tangled
hair .. tall, thin guy. First he was just making these strange hand motions
to the boys .. then he was pretending to pick bugs off their heads & eat
them! LOLOL!! Then he came running after me as we were walking away, making
kissing noises - it really was all very funny!! If you run across him, do
stop & play - it was fun!
Of course, we HAD to go through Ice Station Cool a few times .. and since we
had a new "victim", Alec, welllll .. he "had" to try the "yummy" (gag! LOL)
Beverly soda there too! The look on his face was hysterical! LOL When we all
had our fill of soda, we headed on down towards the Living Seas. Evan likes
this .. I don't particularly. We've got a great aquarium here that's very
very large, and LS just doesn't 'do' anything for me.
After I endured ...errrr... I mean 'enjoyed' that <g>, it was on to something
that I DO like a lot .. the Land pavilion, and Food Rocks was first up!!
I've loved this since it was first opened and "Veggie Fruit Fruit, Veggie
Veggie Fruit Fruit" was the main song! LOL and we still sing (Ev & I) the
songs from it for hours afterwards!
We had to wait in a bit of a line next for "Living with the Land" .. but I
didn't mind. This is another fav of mine in Epcot. And of course, after all
that activity <g> I HAD to have a snack - chocolate chip cookies of course!
It was getting VERY crowded in here by this time, so we saved the Circle
of Life show for another visit.
We'd gotten a FP for TT earlier, and it was now time to use it. The FP wait
time ended up being about 15 min, but that was better than either the standby
or even the single riders line - they were huge!! I love this ride, I just
wish everyone else didn't also, so that the lines were shorter! LOL
It was past time to head to Morocco for lunch, so I made everyone hop to and
really booked it over there - it's one of my favs and I wasn't about to miss
it! When we got finished though, a BIG thunder & rain storm awaited us
outside, so $20 or so later, all of us were outfitted in the "latest in
Disney summer fashion" -- the "oh so chic" yellow ponchos!! LOL Also, we
spent a good amt of time kind of ducking it, browsing in the stores there and
just chilling, waiting for it to be over.
As I said before, this might well have been the hottest & most humid day of
the trip, so after waiting out the storm, we strolled around the countries
briefly .. but the kids were whining away! LOL and it wasn't cooling off any,
so I decided to cut our losses and just take them back to the hotel. Dave
wanted to see the movie in Canada, but the kids didn't .. so we hopped back
on a monorail and went on home to the Grand.
This was also an Eticket night, so on the way back to the room, I stopped at
the Concierge desks and got our tickets for this. The concierge wasn't able
to get Etickets for guests in the past, but they CAN do it now, which is very
convenient!
Once that was finished, we finally got up to the fourth floor, picked up some
snacks on the way and collapsed, grateful to be in A/C!! Dave got back a
while later, and we just ordered up some room service. Originally, dinner
was to be at the San Angel Inn in Mexico, Evan's choice, but none of us
really wanted to hang at Epcot 'til then that day because of the heat, so I
just called & cancelled it. In fact, we ALL just had club sandwiches &
fries, which were actually quite good!! and light enough too.
After we'd rested up, it was getting to be time to head back to the MK for
Eticket night. Good thing we'd brought along the trusty ponchos though ..
because it started to rain shortly after we got there! That actually wasn't
a "bad" thing, because it kept the crowds down some - on a scale of 1-10, I'd
say the crowd factor was a 4 1/2 that night. Any of the parks, rain or
shine, really are somehow a little more 'magical' usually, at night .. I just
happen to think they're MORE magical with less people in them! <g>
I was VERY happy to see the return of Spectromagic too!! The rain subsided,
for a while anyway, so it was able to run. That was my first thought when I
was putting on the poncho .. "oh NO .. this will mean no Spectro!" LOL
We got to do everything at least twice - and actually did BTMRR 3 times, in a
row. There was pretty much no one waiting!! Oh .. I did have to sit out on
Splash Mt., because Alec decided he didn't want to go on it .. he was
'afraid'. LOL Now .. the child rides coasters, has water skiied, etc. ...
but didn't want to do this?? I wouldn't force him though, so .. we sat &
waited. I never did get a straight story for sure, but I have the feeling
that he & Evan just had some little "tiff" and he didn't want to go because
of that, not fear! LOL
I think it was about 12:30 or so by the time we caught the launch & got back
to the Grand.
