Image randomizer test

This is the image randomizer I have been describing.
Each picture is the same .swf but with a random image. Every time you load this post, the images will change.

It's taking an awfuly long time to load. I'm assuming it's because of the image size.

Don't forget that if you use it in a signature, ALL of the images must conform to the guidelines.

hmmm, that was just a test post with images that were way tooooo large. Now I've got it set up with the images that I want, resized to image guidelines.

It still loads REALLY slow... haveta check some things out...

Is this going fast for anyone else? When I link directly to the file, it pops right up, but when it's in my post it goes sllolloooooooooowwwwwwwwww.

The source swf is only 2k, and the largest image is 10k so there's not a bottleneck there...

It's Angelfire. They just cut you off.

Cut me off? So you're saying they stopped allowing links to the SWF files? I know they were having trouble earlier and I couldn't log in - I just thought this may be related to the problem.

I'll be super bummed if I can't host this SWF there. Any other suggestions as wdwinfo doesn't let me upload swf files...

I doubt that they cut access to .swf's alltogether. They just shut down your account for policy violation. You violated their "no direct linking" policy. Geocities used to cut off accounts like this, then they just dropped image linking completely. Eventualy, Angelfire will do the same. For now, you could always set up a new account, until they cut that one off too.

I have ALL my other files linked and they are working fine. It's just the SWF file that's not working. ARGH.

And WHY wouldn't they warn me before cutting off the account? They sent an email out saying they were having technical difficulties and thats why I couldn't log in (but can now...)

Supposedly they don't allow linking either - you can't directly link jpgs (unless you find a secret way to do it like i did), but still could like GIF files. weird.

Shouldn't this internet thing be free????

It's possible that they have caught on and removed .swf compatibility too. That's just a guess though. I know that removing an account due to policy infractions does not get a notification. Tripod did that to me three times in a row.

I hope you find a solution to host .swf's for free if this one doesn't work. I've got all kinds of stuff I'd like to do.
