I'm.........

I hope everyone is doing well.

I’m/we’re taking advantage of this Sunday of no softball to take Katie dorm shopping.
It’s so crazy to think that she’s leaving in about 6 weeks.

It does go fast, but dorm shopping is super fun. Enjoy the day!

I have begun packing for the first cruise that begins on Thursday. Then I have a night at Riviera with two friends. After that we have our DVC Charter cruise on the Wish.

I have lots to do, and lots to look forward to with family and friends!!

Dorm shopping is fun. It has been many years since I did it
The family is doing back to school shopping for the grand kids. They are going back to school after 2 years of home school. They need uniforms too.

...it'll come faster than you know it.

I’m emotionally recovering today from putting my sweet Sophie to sleep yesterday. The vet believes she was either filled with bladder stones or had bladder cancer, which is not good when she was already in kidney failure. We gave her all her favorites during her last couple days which seemed to make her happy, even though she didn’t wag her tail (she hadn’t wagged her tail in over a month). Now she is at peace with no more pain and feeling not like herself. She gave us a wonderful 14 years. She saw Katie start kindergarten and then finish HS - not many dogs can say that.

We're getting ready to have DGS's PreK graduation on Friday......not too exciting since it is just him, but we got a cap and gown

And then Saturday we are doing the family birthday celebration for DGD.

....ohhhhh...:sad1: my heart breaks for you....you were a good mommy to your furbaby! <<hugs>>

:grouphug:From me to your whole family, Slo. It’s a sad time for you all.

Bobbi

I'm so sorry......always such a hard thing to do and a lot for a family to deal with

Slo... my thoughts are with you and your family. Never easy.

Thank you to each and every one of you.

The house has a different vibe to it now - I don’t like it, but I’ll have to get used to it. I went out back to pick weeds and I came in because I felt lonely without Sophie back there with me. Now I’m on the front porch and that feels lonely too because she loved sitting out here with me. After 14 years nothing seems normal with her gone.

I picked up her ashes today and the animal hospital cut off a bunch of her fur and put it in a baggie for me - that made me emotional, but I’m grateful they did that. Makes you wonder why we get these pets when you know the heartbreak that happens when they get sick, old or both. We’re not going to get another dog for quite some time. We need to be able to pick up and go when we want to watch Katie’s games in college or just go visit her in college. Maybe in 4-5 years we’ll consider getting another Yorkie - only time will tell.

It is an adjustment for sure. Your routine changes, your home changes.
We stopped getting pets after our last one died. We like to travel so no more for us.
DD has a cat that we pet sit for sometimes that will be it for us.

Oh, Slo, I'm so sorry! I haven't been on the board much the last couple of days and just now read this. My thoughts are with you, and I understand. Pets are so much a part of the family.

Our vet does clay pawprints, and I felt the same way - such a thoughtful gesture.

Good morning all,
I came back from Omaha, and then immediately had to go to Denver. While I was in Denver I found out my brother passed.
So, my Dad came to visit as soon as I got back and we are planning his celebration of life.
It just seems to never stop around here. there is always something pulling me in a different direction.

I’m taking another gut punch today - my oldest DD, the one who’s husband stole her from us is having her 2nd baby today - a little girl. I found out about it from others and social media. Another grandchild I’ll rarely see - I haven’t seen my 16 month DGS since last January. Life can really throw you some curve balls - sometimes in a good way and sometimes in a bad way.
