I'm worried about crowds

The longest I've ever stood in a theme park line was 30 minutes - I'm kind of worried about things like bathroom breaks! I think before getting in line we'd all have to make sure we had water or some other drink and some snacks (nuts, cereal bars etc.), and of course we will have the kids use the bathroom as soon as possible before. But are people generally underatanding if one adult in the party takes a few kids to the bathroom after an hour or two? Luckily we will have 4 adults in our party and 4 kids, so even if one adult takes the girls as one shift, then when they get back another adult takes the boys, there will always be a group remaining in line. That FJ queue sounds like it's designed to hold many hours' worth of waiting - dare we hope that washrooms have been added?

TMs report there are no bathrooms inside the castle. However, it did make me wonder if that's not the real reason for that mystery sidewalk that popped up a couple of weeks ago that goes from the line area near the greenhouse to JP. Originally people thought it was just an emergency exit, but I wouldn't doubt if they didn't add it after they started looking at the numbers and saw the wait times increase to 1+hours. I'd bet anything someone said "we need a bathroom escape path so people don't have to trek right back thru the castle to get out." That path would certainly be the fastest way out to get to a bathroom.

I'm going the last week of August as well, and I must confess that I too am quite worried about how crazy busy it will be. Hopefully we will have a better idea in a month or two. I'd also consider the Express passes, but only if they will apply to FJ.

I'm going to be keeping my eyes peeled on the boards starting 6/18 to hear what all the adventurous souls who go on 6/18, 6/19, & 6/20 have to say . We arrive on 6/21 (little did we know when we booked that WWoHP would be opening 6/18). I've already prepared the kids & DH for much longer waits than last year. Though I would much prefer shorter lines, it will be kind of cool :cool2: to be one of the first to experience WWoHP.

Another "glass half full" thought ~ perhaps if everyone is waiting in line several hours for FJ & visiting other WWoHP attractions, then the rest of the park won't be quite as busy as we might imagine it's going to be.

Doubtful...I think we won't see Express for The Forbidden Journey anytime soon.

No the package conversation is for whether people will get into Harry Potter before grand opening. The one time each express will be for all hotel guests after that.

I'm still not sure how they will do an Express line for FJ since the regular line goes through the most interesting parts. I hope it's not like Mummy where you miss some setup.

They described the express route in the reports from WWOHP as after they queued through some of the line they exited through the Express route (its the stairs you see in the Ellen video). It therefore does skip some rooms.

I am loving your "glass half full" positivity!

We'll be there with you! We're offsite and going 21st, 23rd and 28th June! Similarly I originally booked us up for then thinking WWOHP would've been open for a few weeks.
But we're going to totally enjoy it!!

Oh I do hope we bump into each other (not literally of course :rolleyes1). We'll be there on all the dates you mentioned. I would love to meet some others from the DIS.

I really want to do the regular line once if possible - then after that I'm happy with the Express line. If the wait is longer than we think the kids can bear, even first thing in the morning, my sis-in-law and I might do the regular line and send the men and kids through the express, and then on to Hippogryph - we are the real HP fans, and the men won't care. I know it will mean only one ride for them that day if they use express, but they won't care - at least SIL and I will still have our express ride available, and maybe we'll use it later when the kids leave with the men for a rest. There are various ways we can play this.

Yes, I like the idea of wanting to see the regular line anyway. Three hours is daunting but it might pass more quickly in such a line. I love the positive attitudes here! :)

I've spent three hours doing much more boring stuff than waiting in line for a great ride. Personally, I can't wait for that three hour wait!!!
