I'm thinking about renting DVC points for an April 2010 vacation

I would like this to be a split stay between AKV concierge and BCV. I understand AKV concierge is the harder reservation to get, so I plan on trying to arrange that first and work the BCV around it. I am hoping for a post Easter trip. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your AKV reservation will need to be booked at 9:00 AM, 11 months prior to your vacation date and even then there is a good chance that the room won't be available.

Good Luck :goodvibes

When would it be good for me to put in the request for a reservation on the rent trade board? I am going to be at Disney from May 7-17 with 4 days in the middle there on the Wonder. Would posting my request in March be too early, or should I wait until April?

Thanks,
Kim

You can post your request any time, but be specific that you need an AKV owner to make a concierge reservation for May 7, 2010. They have to be willing to be on the phone right at 9 AM EDT on June 7 2009 to try for that concierge request. You need to also be specific about what size unit you are willing to accept. If you can do EITHER a 1 bedroom or a studio, you might have more luck than needing a 2 bedroom. If you are flexible, you might just get it. There are only 5 2 bedroom lock off units in concierge, so that is a maximum of 10 units if they are divided into 1 bedrooms and studios. Being flexible with what you will accept will be the key to getting something there.

We are AKV owners, and let me tell you, concierge is THE most difficult reservation to get in all of DVC!!!

Thank you for the reply. I understand that concierge is the hardest to get. I am in love with the Sunrise Safari and doing DVC is so much less expensive than booking the room otherwise. I will be very specific in my request. Since I am going solo, I am aiming for a studio. But I guess a 1 bedroom would be ok.

Thanks again,
Kim
