I'm the coordinator- it's my job to plan early! July 2017 PTR!

It is never to early to start planning, and I am not just saying that because I started my PTR for My June 2017 last month. :yay:

We will also be staying at POP unless a really good discount comes out for a Moderate, but since we are not spending much time in the room. I love your planning so far. I to have started basic planing and made some spread sheet but now just seem to be floating in limbo. I can't wait until the package rates for 2017 open so I feel I am at least doing something. I have money in my Disney Savings Account so I feel I have at least gone in the right direction. $150 saved so far. :goodvibes

To get my Disney fix I watch Disney videos on Youtube, the Disney Planning DVD, read Disney planning books, and lately been one here a bit.

Can't wait to read more.:surfweb:

Yay!!! I'm not the only one!!!
I haven't been on the boards a lot lately due to work being crazy but we are going in June 2017 for my dd's sweet 16. We just went in Sept of 2015 and as much as I would love to go every year it doesn't work with how we like to vacation. We stayed at AKL and we loved it but dd gets to pick and she wants POFQ. I can't wait to book because then it will be more real!
I'm following along!

So fun! Another 2017 summer planner! We are the same way- I would love to, but it's just not possible, so it has been just about every 2 years instead- which isn't too bad! Thanks for reading! :welcome:

Too funny- I'm not the only one! :worship:

I love POP! And you're right, no one ever stays long in their rooms, so no big deal! Love that you have spreadsheet and glad I'm not the only one who does these things! Thanks for following along! I'll have to check out your PTR! :flower:

I adore POFQ, we have stayed there more than another other WDW resort. .... It used to be our go-to resort until I discovered renting DVC points and staying Deluxe.
We may stay there again on this next trip as I think I need to book a place where we could cancel the trip if necessary, which you can't do when renting DVC points. This trip will involve relatives from another state, not just my family.

I'm so glad I found your PTR! I to am planning a trip in 2017 and was thinking of starting my own PTR! After looking at yours I think I just might start mine!

Just started planning a January 2017 trip. It seems so far off, I don't know where to begin but July is even further away. I look forward to hearing about your plans for your trip!

I have been busy, busy lately! Disney has sort of taken a back seat. We have been trying to adopt a dog from several shelters and the process has been time consuming! At last, we found our boy and we can take him home in a few weeks. Poor guy has kennel cough and still needs to be neutered. He has a big scar on his nose and he has been homeless his whole 2 years of life  We have come up with the name Stitch- it suits him perfectly and looking at his scars, it's obvious he has been through a lot! Unfortunately (or fortunately for him), we are now willing to spend all of our money on him to make his life as comfortable and cozy as possible since he really doesn't know what a home is like. Anyway, here's the new third member of our family :goodvibes I'm already in love!

Of course, I've begun researching the Best Friends Pet Care in Disney for our trip to bring Stitch along. The fact that there is a bit of a discount for resort guests is great and also the idea that we can visit him before a day in the parks and be right there if something goes wrong is nice. Downside- 18+ hours with a dog in the car. Who knows- this trip is so far away and we are planning on the idea that I may be pregnant, have a baby or maybe Stitch will be our only baby. This will definitely need to be factored into our plans and eventually we will make a decision. Of course, we will have to see if Stitch is a good rider in the car (unlike his new mommy who is ALWAYS car sick as a passenger )! This is why I am always the driver!

While I'm still waiting to book our Dis vacation, I have not posted many plans, so I'm sorry for that! I am at a Dis impasse! :rotfl:More to come and more to plan! Until then, I'll be watching Lilo and Stitch and doggy proofing our apartment in anticipation!popcorn::

See you soon!!

I' so happy I found your PTR! I have started planning our May 2017 trip. My DH thinks I'm crazy when I want to discuss where to stay, etc. this far out. That is why I joined DIS, other people to share in my obsession!

That's exactly why I did too, my DH thinks I'm nuts! Welcome!!

So after a busy few weeks, waiting for our pup to come home with us and then having him, we had to make a very hard decision. We spent a week with Stitch, loving him, laying with him, taking care of him and treating him to long walks, we had to give him back to the shelter. I had spring break, so he got my full attention. The shelter didn't really inform us of how damaged this boy was and he did not trust my husband. He was getting very protective of me. He attacked him and from there, we knew that if we brought our nephews or nieces around, we would never forgive ourselves if he had done that to them. As hard as it was, we took him back and we looked awful to the shelter that we returned him to. Needless to say, we are very upset and we have acted like we just put a dog down, but this meant a lot to us. :sad1:

Advice is to go get a dog today or start the search again, but I think we need to take a break and return when we are ready. Looking to Disney planning to turn my mood around and get back on track with our trip...

I'm sorry for the sad post, but hoping to post soon with some better news and some more Dis news!

While talking to my mother in law and sister in law and showing them pictures from our last WDW trip, they realized the outfit preparation that needs to take place before our trip. In my picture, I'm wearing my fanny pack, my custom Disney tank, cooling band, mouse ears, etc... I definitely have my list of Disney must haves during a summer vacation. After going in the summer a few times, I realized what has been needed, what I can skip and I've been able to perfect the must have list. Share with me your must haves for going during this time of year or any time of year! :cutie:

Some of my favorites-

This Everest fanny pack is on Amazon.com- It is pretty cheap and works great! I love this mint color and it is perfect to hold those Disney gift cards, our IDs to get our tasty alcoholic treats while Drinking Around the World, and other items that I don't feel comfortable having in the backpack. My DH does NOT want to wear a fanny pack, so I only use one, but it's so easy to strap on and I'm always happy I have it! http://www.amazon.com/Everest-Signa...1459806431&sr=8-1&keywords=everest+fanny+pack

Speaking of backpack- this is the one that we use.

Since I get the fanny pack, DH gets to hold the backpack for most of the time! I know that you might say that since we have Magic Bands, we really don't need to carry much else into the parks, especially in the dead heat of summer, however I love having a bag with us! We hold an extra water or two in there, any small purchases that we make that we haven't sent back to the room, ponchos (Ultra important during rainy summer months), Wet ones packets (I swear by these, I use these more than anything while in the parks), band-aids, etc... We make sure not to make this super heavy and we really are usually out of our room and out and about with it all day! Plus, this bag is super cute and keeps along with our Disney wardrobe!

Some of the little things-

Ponchos- I hate carrying around an umbrella in the park and I've been known to buy a raincoat just to avoid wearing the plastic poncho that sticks to my skin and is just oh so uncomfortable! This is at least my justification to my DH for yet another Disney purchase!! :rolleyes1
Wet ones
Cooling bands
Small hand-held fans

I am not a huge fan of Body Glide, but having something to use to avoid my legs rubbing together is SO important. I use this talc powder that I got at (Surprise!) a Pure Romance party! :P It is meant to be a men's product, but the woman sold me on it after she said it can be used to avoid "chub rub" especially on my wedding day. We brought it along to Disney and swore by it! Here's what the product looks like if you want to try it out-

Sunscreen! Sunscreen, wait did I mention sunscreen?! I'm a pale Irish girl, so this is a must have! Sunscreen is so important for anyone in the hot summer Florida sun! We lather on 75-100 before even leaving the resort room.

I am busy scanning Etsy for some cute family shirts to wear. This is my go to for Disney wear! Will update with my finds and purchases on the wardrobe front! I feel that I need to book this vacation so I can finally make some purchases without feeling crazy! Ugh! o_O

So I took some time off, which aligns with my summer break as a teacher- being lazy, catching up on sleep, finally getting things done that I've put off (read- haven't had time for) for a year (appointments, things around our apartment, etc.. etc...) I feel guilty that I haven't added to my PTR, although I am always browsing the boards for new ideas and to get excited for our trip!

While I've taken time off writing in my report, I haven't taken a break from planning or at least from having Disney on the brain!! My husband and I are moving to a bigger apartment at the end of the summer and that has taken a bit of my time. Setting up two new rooms and figuring out how to fill them! I know....Disney!! My Disney mugs have taken a mind of their own and guess what....more room! Disney souvenirs getting out of hand...more room!! World Showcase memorabilia all over the place... more room!!! This week marks exactly 1 year away from our BIG FAMILY REUNION trip and also DH and I got a couple of mickey head tattoos in preparation as well!! :earsboy::earsboy:

DH also got his very first tattoo- a ship. And although it's not Disney related, I've convinced him to just tell refer to it as Prince Eric's ship! The tattoo convention was in our area this passed weekend and we splurged and spontaneously decided to get tattooed. The tattoo-a-thon commences today after my appointment to get a tattoo I have been thinking about getting for some time. I will post pics after it's done, but it's Disney related and I love it!! :mickeyjum:donald:

Anyway onto some plans-

I've decided to check out breakfast at the Wave in the Contemporary. After taking a poll of MK breakfast spots, this seemed to be a good choice. Any advice, great meals or experiences you have that you would like to share?? :confused3 I would love to read them!!

I have also decided to add a breakfast at Kona Cafe, because I have been dying to try Tonga Toast, and a dinner on our last night at Narcoossee's!! If you have any great stories from either one, jot them down! :thumbsup2 This will be our first time at all three of these restaurants!

How did I add all of the fabulous places to eat you ask....I decided to upgrade to DELUXE DINING!! DH and I were convinced we wouldn't need it this time around and I'm sure many of you agree, but we felt that we would be buying lunch out of pocket anyway and we really didn't want to carry money around for food like that. More money to carry around specifically for souvenirs- thank goodness for that bigger apartment :hyper:!

Following! I definitely understand the fun in planning early. I'm looking at planning our 2018 trip! I did a PTR for our first trip in 2015. I'm trying very hard to not start one this early for a trip that's over 2 years away. I'll just have to settle for reading about yours!

Yay! :daisy:Thanks for reading along and welcome!!

Wow, you have a lot going on! For some reason, I wasn't getting notifications of your posts, so I had a little to catch up on. Exciting news about Deluxe Dining!

I'm currently planning a trip for a large group for Sept 2017. We haven't booked yet because I'm in the process of becoming a Disney Travel Specialist and of course I want to wait to book all these packages until I can get commission. I am so excited for the trip and the job.

We are currently planning to stay at Pop and I think I have 4 rooms of people. I haven't started a pre trip report yet, so it will be nice to follow yours.

Sounds like I've found some other Disney lovers that love to plan and plan far in advance.

That's so exciting!! I would love that job- good luck!! :goodvibes

How big is the group that's going with you?

I am in love with POP! It's such a good time- glad to see another POPPER
:rotfl:Thanks for following along!

Our magic bands arrived in the mail!! I decided to decline the magic bands that come along with the trip and ordered ours from the Disney Store. When I told DH about the options on there, he decided the plain ol' ones wouldn't do apparently! I may have created a Disney monster in him (have I told you about our first trip and he said WDW is just for kids?!) We've come a long way

This is what we picked up...

Disney Mail really is the best kind of mail :donald:
