After a long, wonderful day of traveling from Phoenix to Orlando and plunging down elevator shafts at DHS, I opened my suitcase and discovered that ALL of the clothes inside were WET.

And STINKY.

I mentioned in my first installment (about 4 years ago) that it was raining in Phoenix as we boarded the plane. It NEVER rains in Phoenix. But it rained that morning. And I watched my bag get rained on as it sat on the cart waiting to be loaded into the airplane. I didnt really think about the fact that my clothes would get wet. But they did. And wet clothes sitting in a suitcase for 15ish hours equals stinky, musty-smelling clothes. Furthermore, all of the clothes were super wrinkled because of the wetness!
So I proceeded to take almost all of the clothes out of the suitcase and drape them all over the room to get them to dry. And as you all know, Florida, in its humid glory, is not the easiest place to line dry clothing!
The first rain in Phoenix in 3 months and my clothes get wet, stinky and wrinkled
just my luck!
After hanging up all my stuff, I organized all of our food on the shelves in the room.
Then I took some more room pics.
I'm not sure what I was going for with this pic!
I switched my park supplies from my Overland Donner bag to my Baggalini bag, wrote in my trip journal, and read a little from whatever book I was reading at the time. Meanwhile, DH watched Braveheart on TV. I set the alarm for 6:30 the next morning and fell asleep very quickly! Tomorrow would be our first wake-up at Disney World and I had a very full day planned for us, including my first ever viewing of Wishes!
Okay, here is where I share something that I am ashamed to admit
I was disappointed by Pop Century. On my last trip, I stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and I was in heaven. AKL is my idea of a perfect resort. Pop, on the other hand, is very basic. I found myself wishing that I had never stayed at AKL because then I would not compare other hotels to AKL. I had stayed at Pop before and it was just fine with me. That was until I stayed at AKL. As youll see throughout my TR, we spent little to no time at the hotel, so all we really needed was a bed and a bathroom. But I found myself longing for the luxury of AKL. What a spoiled brat I am.
