So…where did I leave off?
Oh, that’s right! I’ve left you on the bus for 3 months! I do apologize. Please join me as we conclude our bus ride to our resort.
I tried very hard to squelch the tears the were welling up in my eyes as we passed under that magical Disney World arch. The driver told us that POP would be the first stop. And before I knew it, I saw this!
We’re almost there!
Oh, and look! They have color television! We are staying in style, folks!
Ahhhh…there’s the sign I’ve been waiting to see.
We pulled up to the front of the hotel and I was DYING to get off that bus. But for some reason, no one was getting off the bus! I was very confused. The doors were open, but no one was moving. I convinced a guy who was a few rows in front of us to get of the bus first and then I followed him. DH stayed behind to gather our carry-ons. I walked as fast as I could without running into the lobby.
Upon entering the lobby, I heard some lovely 70s music and saw a bunch of kiddos having a hula hoop contest. Oh yes, I was home! My parents and my brother and sister-in-law had arrive about 15 minutes before we did. I saw my dad browsing in the Everything POP, but I decided I should check in before going and saying hello.
I got in line to check in, letting the man who led the bus charge go in front of me. After about a 5 minute wait that seemed like FOREVER, it was my turn!
The cast member who checked me in was not the friendliest girl in the World, but that’s okay…she got the job done. I had requested a room in the 70s. The cast member told me that a room in the 60s was open at the moment, but we would have to wait to get in the room if we wanted a room in the 70s. We wanted to change our clothes, so we took the 60s room.
We headed to our room and said hello to Mowgli as we walked past. He became our good friend that week. We found our room on the fourth floor. We had a nice view of the lake and the legendary years section of POP from our room. I was relieved that our room did not face the pool…I don’t want any crazy kids keeping me up at night till they’re my own!
We entered our room and checked it out. It was adorable, of course! As soon as we entered the room, I realized that I had forgotten to ask about our water at check in. I had ordered bottled water from Costco to be delivered to the room and it was supposed to be held for us at the front desk.
So we dumped our stuff in the room, changed into the clothes that we had packed in our carry-ons, and we headed to the cafeteria to get some Thanksgiving grub!
