I'm thankful for...MICKEY!!! My Thanksgiving '08 TR!: TR Update, Last Day!

Me too. I would move in a heartbeat if my kids would move some place warm. I have given my DH alot of grief for alot of years because he moved us back here. We were away from home for 10 years with the AF, so we're pretty independent - although I suppose when we're ready to leave, our parents will need us. Oh well, we can always get away to WDW!



Yeah for Disney Dollars!! I was thinking about buying some gift cards for our trip so we don't put souvies on the cc this time.

One good thing about keeping our house and renting it out is that we'll always have a home in AZ. So if we're too wimpy for the cold Chicago weather...AZ here we come!!!

I never thought about gift cards...do you get them at Disney store?

I am stuck at home with pink eye today. I won't go into details but it's gross.

So when I went to Target to fill my eyedrop prescription today, I had some time to kill. I wandered over to the sporting goods section and bought these babies:

These are my fave ponchos. Last year, when it rained on us every minute of every day of our trip, these were the ponchos that worked the best.

So I got two for each of us (Dh and me). I also have some dollar store ponchos, but those will be a last resort. Hopefully 3 ponchos each will get us through the trip.

Feel better, pink eye is most definitely NOT fun! I was just going to get dollar store ponchos but do you think I should spring for some that are a little more expensive? I don't know how to put this...lets see....I have a big head so I need to have a poncho thats going to stay on it and not fall back like every other hood does on me lol

Here's hoping the about two inch average rainfall in Florida in November is not going to all fall during the days we're there. I'd be okay with none of it falling, unless it's just a sprinkling to run some of the guests out of the park so we have fewer people to stand behind in lines!

If I were you, I would spring for at least one of the more expensive ponchos (well, 2, I guess so your DBF has one too!). I found that they stayed where they were put and did not get torn as easily as the dollar store ponchos. And I think they should definitely cover your head! You must be very smart. You need somewhere to put all those brains, right?!?

Yes, I hope it doesn't rain much! On our last Thanksgiving trip, it only rained once and did precisely what you said...scared some people out of the park! And the Thanksgiving trip prior to that, it didn't rain at all. So I'm hoping!

The doctor said I'm good to see my kiddos tomorrow, so I'm relieved. I HATE missing work. It was hard for me to stay home today!

The quest for fitness is going well. I am currently sore from my quest for fitness! DH and I are supposed to go running tonight. I can't wear my contacts right now, and I don't know how the running will be with glasses on, but we'll see!

How do my dogs know which shoes are my Disney shoes?

The ONLY shoes my dogs have chewed up over the past year have been shoes bought specifically for Disney World. After my trip last year, my lab chewed up the crocs I wore EVERY day of the trip. Then I bought new crocs. Tie dyed Mary Jane crocs to be exact. Those were chewed up last week by the other dog. Two pairs of my Teva Mush flip flops have also been chewed up. Crocs and Teva Mush flip flops are the ONLY shoes I plan to wear at Disney World. Now I have none of the above!

I don't know what to do about this! I have already spent kind of a lot of money replacing dog-chewed shoes. I don't know if I can justify another purchase. Well, I know I can, but DH won't be too happy with me. I guess I should just choose one or the other, but which do I choose?

Grrrr, about the dogs chewing up the shoes -- we have to make sure that we hide our shoes or they are toast! Our dogs also like action figures, leaves, and carpet.

You can walk around theme parks with flip flops! My feet would just die!

We normally hide our shoes too. I don't know what I was thinking?!

Your dogs like carpet? oh no! They have expensive taste. With our dogs, it's shoes and pens.

Those are the only flip flops I can wear for that long. But the crocs are definitely better for all day long. So I guess I should go with the crocs.

Oh, geez! I'm sorry to hear about the untimely dispatching of your shoes! I had a puppy once (well, we still have her, but she's at my Nana's) and she loved to shred kleenex. And toilet paper.

You get the idea.

If we even left for a second and the bathroom door was open, we'd find a white paper trail all over. It was kind of cute, but annoying to clean up.

I have two pairs of the croc flip-flops and that is all I wear to the parks. Unless it is too cold.
