I am sure going to miss the Disney Club!!! I had another problem with Bank One/Disney and am so sad that this is the replacement for the Disney Club. The phone people are rude--after the 6 months of no interest--its just like any other credit card!!! The perks don't add up to the benefits of the Disney Club. Granted--you accuulate points, but I would rather deal with Disney than a credit card company!

Me too but Disney doesn't want to deal with us! It's all about money and Disney gets more on this Disney Visa. Eisner at his best. I won't get it and fiancially, it's not a good deal. IMHO.

I've used the Club card a lot this year to get everything I could before it's gone.

It's is sad and the end of an era.

I, too, shall miss the club. I used the Bank One card, just so I would have the credits to spend in WDW last week. Before we left, I got my card, had it activated, or so I was told. My DH and I shopped all over The World of Disney store in DTD and after we gathered all of our presents and other purchases checked out only to find the card was not activated. Well, I wasn't going to go through all of that shopping all over again, so I had to pay for the stuff. Needless to say I wasn't a happy camper. Then I found out the Xmas store in DTD wouldn't accept it either. I did use some of it later and will finish it after xmas at the DS. I miss the Club!!!!

Me too - our membership ran out in May and I stillhaven't had the heart to get rid of the card:(

my Disney Club card for maybe the last time last night at our Disney Store. Can't even begin to think about how much money this has saved us over the years on store discounts, park passes, resort stay, etc. The CM at the Store said he heard that they may be planning something to replace it in the next few years but I don't it since it appears that Disney (Eisner) sold their sole to BankOne with the Disney Visa. The Visa has added some better offers as of late and hopefully will do more in the future. But, it still does not come even CLOSE to the Disney Club. Maybe the DisneyVisa could add a different type of membership that wasn't free and would offer some of the Disney Club benefits??!!

FOLKS-
I couldn't have said it better myself!!!:(

I feel like I've lost my own connection to the mouse-

Just another small example of the price
we pay for "progress"

Or as they said in North Dallas Forty
"when we call it a game, they call it Business-
when we call it Business they call it a Game"

I will really miss that 1-800 number for WDW dining and reservations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

I miss the Disney Club for the discount park passes. I wont get the visa. I think that is selfish of disney to think that everyone wants a visa.. What happens to the people that can't get credit but still enjoys Disney?? I know many people that can't get credit because of things that haven happened to them being sick or got a divorice.. it's not fair that they don't have a way to get discounts..

oh well, just like the AP used to have more perks they are slowly taking them away.

I second that, Buckleybunch!

Here's another one whose membership expired earlier in the year, but I've just not been able to "let go" of the card. I'm really ticked with Disney's move on this one!

I'll be missing Disney Club too ... especially since there's no replacement for Canadians. We get some of the same discounts with our AP but the DC toll free number was a real money saver.

Explain why dc is better than visa? I am happy with visa reward system. i got in on disney club late. I just do regular spending through disney visa, pay off at end of month and get disney dollars for doing it. I will not have to pay for a meal on my next 5 day trip.

you got special rates for the WDW resorts, saved 10% at all Disney Stores including the huge one at Downtown Disney, other discounts at WDW (food at the Swan & Dolphin, golf, etc.), discount on AAA service, etc. and our main use....you also saved 10% on your WDW park tickets when purchased at a Disney Store. You also got the Disney magazine free, a newsletter and were sent other specials throughout the year.

It was a great benefit and am just sick it will all be gone tomorrow!!!

I was just going through my end of the year income/expence report I make up for our household. With the Disney Club this past year I saved $106.85...that isn't counting the Disney Magazine and this was a non-park year for us. So I will really miss it also. I refuse to have any other credit cards....my DH and I only have an AmEx Blue and we like the rewards system on that and don't want to get another card just because Disney thinks I should.

and the Disney Visa is only available to US residents, so we can't get it up here in Canada.

So there is no replacement for the Disney Club for us.

and 2 trips to Disney World, I figure the DC saved us close to $600 and allowed us to have a savannah view at the AKL. Hopefully, the Disney Visa will offer more benefits over time as it has improved over the past 6 months. But still not close to the DC. May have to go to my local Disney Store today and buy one last thing using my card!
