Am I the only one who cries at Disneyland? I usually cry during the fireworks. I've been there 13 times so it's not like it's my first time being there or whatever but, am I the only one who does? Is there any way to stop the crying from happening? lol

Oh I am a weepy woman while at Disney. Funny, I rarely cry any other time! The fireworks always get me. Worse crybaby incident for me was riding Soarin last August. A group of Japanese kids rode with us, clearly their first time. Seeing their pure joy and delight, not understanding their language but knowing exactly what they were saying was pure magic. I know when I go to DL next week I will tear up remembering our last trip their with my parents who are both old and sick and will likely never go there again. Never thought my mother would live through her cancer and then when we walked in the gates seeing her and my stepdad embrace and she looked up at him with tears and said, I did make it didn't I? I just give in to it now, its therapeutic!

Oh, I get stoopid at a couple of things! Let's see, the first time I saw, "Remember...Dreams Come True" fireworks, I got a huge lump in the throat and misty-eyed. Then, the first time on Soarin' Over California, the first part with the pictures of past aviator legends really chokes me up. It's seeing their faces combined with the background music that does it. Oh, and the ride itself... oui! What else...oh, yes! That show at the Opera House, the 50th Celebration special hosted by Steve Martin. There were parts all three of us sat there with a glazed look. Oh, yeaaaah... :sad2:

I just got back yesterday from a five night trip......I know I cried (or at least welled-up) once a day ::yes::

I cry during the parades. Can't help myself, but I do everytime! :umbrella:
~Hollyster2 here....forgot to sign Ashleigh off the computer before replying to ANOTHER post.

I always take a second to medidate at the statue in the centre of the Hub. To thank Walt for this wonderful place.

I don't personally, but my partner does.

He starts balling when we first arrive and get to Main Street and can see the castle for the first time during the trip. Although it didn't happen during our first trip to DL... because when we got to Main Street... the big blue tarped castle just didn't have the same effect on him (they were prepping it for the 50th).

Oh, he also cries during the fireworks....

BTW, you didn't hear ANY of this from me!!! :rolleyes1

I get a little lump in my throat if I'm watching the fireworks from over by Small World during the section of Walt's opening day speech (the show footage of him making it). I will be crying like a baby on Tuesday because it's the last day for one of my fave CMs--Laughing Stock's Kevin Gregg (also an occasional Billy sub).

I always well up during the fireworks. No matter what else happens during the day, that is such a special moment. Makes me well up thinking about it!!!

My eyes tend to kind of leak when I see young children (or old children :) ) awestruck at Disneyland. It's really wonderful to see. On 17 July, my eyes were leaking when we sang "Happy Birthday, Disneyland" -- I tried to think, "It's just a park" - but when I think of all the joy this place has given to people the warm fuzzies kind of overwhelm me.

My DL trip isn't until October, but I cried when I watched the promotional DVD I recently got in the mail! My daughter demanded we watch it again and I cried again!

Yes, I always well up at the parades, fireworks, and the sight of the castle. I cried when I saw Spaceship Earth for the first time at WDW.

Oh Gosh... I always cry at Disneyland. Fireworks, parades, various musical moments on attractions... I'm a sucker for music in what I call "the key of Disney".

I had to completely avoid the snow on Main Street last winter, because it was the last thing my mom and I went out and did together before she died... saw Candlelight and watched the snow fall. I figured I'd end up in a heap, sobbing on Main St if I went that year and watched it again. Maybe this year...

I have a lifetime of memories tied up in that park and I think that's what makes me cry. There are just so many memories...

Yep I cry.
In fact, I got teary just reading some of the posts here!!

At DL I usually only cry during the "Golden Dreams" movie, at WDW I blubber each and every time at the end of American Adventure. At Christmas I always cry at the end of Illuminations when they play "let there be peace on Earth".

In 1985, there was a TV special hosted by Harry Anderson for Disneyland's 30th anniversary. At one point, they showed footage of Walt walking around the orange groves of what was soon to be his theme park and playing in the background was Louis Armstrong's "What A Wonderful World." Well, I don't know what it is about that song, but sure enough, we were all crying at the screen! I get a lump just hearing the song in my head! We may still have the special on Beta somewhere, but it was so good, it should be put on DVD uncut!

Oh, and with Disneyland, even though I never saw Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln, my cousin made a copy of our old record and I finally listened to it not too long ago. I got through it okay, but when the chorus started to sing, "Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord..." I was gone! :sad1:

You all made me smile, with all the happy thoughts of Disneyland. I only make it there every 4 or 5 years, but I live for those times - and cry the minute I see the Park! I have been working on getting my DH to go in October ( I have been once with my sisters and once with just my DS, but not for 15 years with him.) and he finally agreed to go if it was for the holiday. Now we will have to deal with the huge crowds, but hopefully that won't overshadow the whole WONDERFUL experience!

I totally agree Albertan mom, I am getting a little nostalgic and emotional just reading this thread too, because in all of the posts, I would have felt the same way.

Worse crybaby incident for me was riding Soarin last August. A group of Japanese kids rode with us, clearly their first time. Seeing their pure joy and delight, not understanding their language but knowing exactly what they were saying was pure magic.

I had a similiar incident where we were there the first year they did the holiday fireworks with the snow on Main street...(We were really lucky because they did a special unadvertised surprise test before the official showing times.) I couldnt help feeling a little emotional when I saw all the little children's reactions when it started snowing...it could have been in a Disney commercial! :wizard:
So Mary Jo, I completely agree with you, the kids' reactions and excitement get me every time!!

Several months ago, my boyfriend and I went to Disneyland together for the first time... it was 730 am, our first morning, getting ready to head into the park... and Kevin had tears rolling down his face... the lines, the crowds, the smells... he was just too stoked to be sharing it with me.

Hes such a cutie pie sometimes... <3

Princess_Katie006, it's ok to cry whenever you want to, especially at Disneyland! It is nice to know alot of us do too. And by the way, I totally LOVE your signature picture!!
