I have tables that I need to link. My hope would be that if someone needs to run a report, it would come up with all related info.

I have 5 tables that contain water samples. Each table has a different chemical that the water was tested for (pesticides, inorganics, volatile aromatics, etc.), but they are all linked through the sample ID. Let's say I wanted to know all information for water sample ID #766, how could I get Access to show ALL info for that sample?

I tried relationships and designing a query, but it's not working.

Please help!!

Pull up the relationship window. If your tables aren't listed... right click within the window & you will get a menu. Click on show table. You will get a listing of the tables available in your database. Click on the tables you want to link.
Then join the fields that are the same from each table.
You can then write a query.

I did that, I joined the Sample ID column from each table. Then I designed a query using the wizard and it says mismatch in expression

check to make sure that the data in each one of the tables is formatted exactly the same. ie all integers or numbers or text or whichever.
