I'm steamed, in more ways than one

I can't sleep. And I'm too warm. I figure it's just me.
Well, I just checked my thermostat and it was adjusted to 78.
Somebody, and I can only think of one person who's been in my house that would do something like adjusting the temp in my house, adjusted it.
I swear he does it just to aggravate me. Actually no, my feelings don't come into account. He decided it was too cool in my house so he fixed it to what he thinks it should be.
I was planning on calling him this morning for a different reason, but now, I definitely will over this.

Why would anyone adjust the temerature in someone elses house?

As he is probably waiting for you to say something, it probably would get him more if you just didn't say anything at all - like you didn't even notice. :teeth:

Be sure to check the thermostat yourself before retiring each evening. ::yes::

Best wishes.

After 3 weeks of temps in the 70s, it's finally in the mid 80s--and I'm back in my non AC classroom. It got up to 83 in the room yesterday with 2 fans and no students! Today the kids come and it should be really fun.
Make sure you tell your "climate controller" what you would like your thermostat at. Perhaps it was that Lennox furnace guy?;)

Laurie!

I'm surprised by your reaction to this! Sure it wasn't right of him to do that, but in cases like this it's absolutely necessary to be the bigger person, to show some maturity, and rise above such petty behavior no matter how irritating it is. . .

And do not mention it! As Otimon said, that's what he wants and you'd be playing right into his hands.

Just be the adult and act like nothing happened.

See, then next week when you sneak into his house and replace his shampoo with Nair and superglue he'll never have anyway of knowing it was payback for this. .

::yes::

;)

:hyper:

LOL, good plan, if I knew where he and his gf lived. But it's an hour out of town. And for some reason, I haven't been invited. go figure.

No, I'm going to tell him to keep his stinking hands off my thermostat. He'll say ok, and do it again next time.

check your frigerator, I bet he ajusted that temp also

I wouldn't be surprised.

No, I'm going to tell him to keep his stinking hands off my thermostat.

Maybe you could wire a joy buzzer to it so the next time he touched it he would remember not to...kind of like Pavlovian training :)

  ROTFL!!! :teeth: :teeth: Willy, you're dangerous!;) :teeth: :teeth:

Um, Serena. Excuse me but how did he get the chance to be "alone" with your thermostat long enough to change the settings? If he doesn't live there I'm wondering how he had the opportunity. And is there anything else he's messed with or gotten into that you don't know about? - this message has been brought to you by a woman whose ex kept helping himself to things from her house long after he'd left it.

He came over visiting with his daughter. They watched a movie together. I'm not worried about him taking anything. He's not that kind of person. If he did take something, he'd tell me, he'd probably fix it and then return it.
He is a decent guy, except for a few things.

He has opened my mail, but for that matter, I still get his mail sometimes. I open it, if it's junk I throw it away, if not, I give it him next time I see him.

I admit we have a weird divorce. We get along much better since we don't live together any more.

Ditto. My ex is a great guy except for a few things too. It just didn't occur to him that he shouldn't take stuff that was "his" without at least discussing it with me. I'd notice something was missing (tools or something from the garage) and one of the kids would say "well, yeah Dad took it. He was sure you wouldn't mind." Glad your ex has different boundaries.

Personally I like WillyJ's nair and superglue idea myself!

I asked him why he changed it. His reply, he was cold.

My ex installed and programed the heating and air conditioning and thermostat in my house. If he felt like it he could program it so I couldn't change it. A locking cover would just aggravate him and take him longer to change it. I'll just have to make sure it's adjusted to what I like after he visits.
