I'm speechless...maybe not speechless..but quite surprised it's allowed on tv.

The AXE commercial in question is hysterical! THANKS for clueing me in to it.

There is another one of a man who is showering...just saw that one for the first time too!

The AXE advertising department must spend a lot of time laughing! :rotfl:

So it's just me then that thinks that it's pushing the envelope for TV?

Throw those fuzzy balls down here! :rotfl:

Hmm yeah pushing the envelope but not anymore than schwetty balls on SNL and the Orbit gum commercials. Gotta admit they are quite creative!

Thank you posted that one to my facebook! I found it hilarious! Anyone notice the guy sitting in the audience? FUNNY!

I think Axe will lose a lot of customers.

Pushing the envelope has gone too far. Really we don't understand what that entire commercial was implying? What's worse, is this commercial is played during family television time.

Funny, no. Disgusting yes.

What about that raunchy commercial for bikini razors where all the shrubs (or bushes) are suddenly trimmed?

I think people think so little of themselves that they need to find this humorous or won't be considered cool.

No way! Axe is geared to young men that find this humor hysterical. I don;t think they are going to lose their target market at all.

No I mean could this be aimed more at their market if they tried!

Reminds me of the OLD original SNL skits of the 70's. hilarious and non PC.

Not nearly as funny as the schwetty balls skit. Nothing comes close to schwetty balls. ;)

:rotfl: I think it's probably just thay people find it funny, nothing to do with trying to be cool!

On a side note though.....I saw these at Walmart on Sunday when I went shopping. I took a quick peek at it and thought it was a "manly" type of bath scrunchie. And I guess I was right LOL

It's a real product?

... but now I won't buy it. The product should stand on it's own, its a good line. They ruin for me personally with the way the advertise.

Since it seems it's for a real product, how should they advertise it? A man wearing floaty clothes running through a field like Summer's Eve used to advertise? I mean, they are both about the same thing, cleaning private parts (though honestly this sounds like almost as bad an idea as regularly using Summers Eve is)...I prefer silliness and being as honest as you can get, instead of mothers and daughters having private talks about "intimate" things in ads....

totally thought the ad was European (and since all but the known actress seemed to have accents, it might very well have been in the past), am a little more impressed with American TV now that this was on it....

yes its real... its something geared towards men.... if this gets them to wash better so be it.. :rolleyes1

I saw it on Spike during the Star Wars marathon Labor day weekend. This was the middle of the day. I was watching Star Wars with DS6. Of course it went right over his head.

I was pretty surprised. Couldn't believe I was seeing this in the middle of the day. On SNL, yes. Very similar to SNL. Couldn't belive it was a real commercial.

That said, I thought it was pretty funny. THe content didn't offend me or anything. I just didn't think it was for a real product. If it was, I wasn't sure what the commercial was for. Were they selling a personal hygiene product or something to mainstain athletic equipment? I mean, now I know, but at first I wasn't sure.

YEs, it was pretty crude and tasteless, but it is funny enough and attention-getting enough that it will probably help sales. We are discussing it, aren't we?

I tend to be on the "prudish" side, but then , its the internet and not on broadcast tv, and I thought it was funny. What I think is more insiduous and disturbing, are the erectile disfunction commercials that seem to air all the time. Those, I would put after 10 pm.
I hear you, gosh I hate those commercials. My DD won't ask me about dirty balls but there was a time she asked what an erection was after seeing one of those stupid commercials. Ummm, ya, that was fun

I'm not much of a prude either, if this was on one of the big 3 networks I would be surprised, but the cable channels have much more leeway IMO.

Oh, I also found it :rotfl2: the little old lady was great!

I thought it was funny. I would WAY prefer that commercial than any erectile dysfunction commercials.. I do think her playing with the balls was too much. Take that part out and my boys would think it's funny. :rotfl:

I, too, cracked up. The first response from both DH and myself was, "are they trying to actually sell a product?" :rotfl: Is this a "man loofah"?

I think Axe will lose a lot of customers.

You have to be kidding me. Axe products are aimed at men between 16 and 34. They will not lose any customers. If anything, they are gaining customers and, as with this thread right here, getting people to talk about their products.

Does it "push the envelope?" Of course it does, but that's marketing, and kudos to Axe, because it has developed a commercial that gets people talking and gets its name out there.

Personally, I find the commercial to be funny, and I don't have an issue with it. Axe primarily is airing this on G4, TruTV, MTV, etc.

Here's my question. Are men really having that much of a problem keeping that area clean? If anything on their body, I'd think they'd spend the most time down there to begin with.:rotfl:
