This fall, we are doing a split stay; 2 days at Poly (no meal plan), 7 days at BC (with meal plan). Will probably get tickets from UT and just link them to our account for the entire stay...The last time we did a split stay, we had the meal plan for both parts of the trip. For some reason, we were told we MUST check out of the first hotel before checking into the second hotel...not sure if this had something to do with the meal plan, but was wondering if we have to actually check out of the first hotel, or can we just leave and go check into the BC. Thanks!

We haven't checked out of our 1st resort of a split stay in 6 years or so with zero issues.

Not to throw a wrench into your plans here, but in order to get dining, you must have a package booked with Disney (room and tickets). However, I believe you can activate your tickets a few days before you check in to that resort.

Actually you can book a ticketless package, which is Room plus Dining.

Oh! Very good then. I thought that was only for AP holders.

I assume this has to be called in to book, and not online then.

That's correct. Ticketless packages can only be booked over the phone.

The only time tickets are required in order to get a dining plan is if you are booking a dining promo like free dining or stay, play, dine. Otherwise, you can add dining to a room without adding tickets and can even book a room with a room-only discount and only add dining.
