I'm Soooo Happy!!!

Our house sale finally closed yesterday! Our house in Orlando (we live in Tampa) finally sold yesterday after several "false" closing dates over the last 2 weeks (we were giving up hope -- buyer's lender was holding things up).

This morning I saw the sale proceeds in our bank account (wired) and I paid 3 MAJOR credit cards off!!!! That's about all my racing heart could take -- more strategy this weekend to get our CC debt erased and put the ball in motion for the refinancing of our present home at a much lower interest rate. We had to hold off because our debt ratio was too high to qualify for refinancing. Now that the other house is sold and the CC debt is diminishing, we'll save even more money if we can refinance.

A long hard road, but well worth the wait! I'm in SEVENTH HEAVEN!!!!

FOJMO - what relief you must be feeling!!! WOOHOO!!

Since it's Friday, and Fridays are for celebrating anyway....I think I'll have a drink in your honor this evening! We are working on paying off debt also and I know how tough it can be.

I promise I'll mix the drink at home and I won't drive - gotta be safe!

My DH and I have made a promise to each other that we will NEVER get in this deep with CC debt again. I mean, it is a LOT! If all works as planned after the refinancing, we will have NO BILLS at all, save for the new mortgage, car lease payments, and insurance. Won't that be wonderful?

Our DD (17) even said for us to pay our bills and she said not to worry about college funds -- she's so determined to go where she wants to college (NC, not Florida) so she said she will gladly take out student loans to finance it. Of course, we have some saved already for her and will help as much as we can, but she knows it's important for us to get our heads above water. She's a wonderful kid!

Enjoy that drink tonight! If I drank, I'd do the same. Good luck to you and your payoff plan!

Congrats! I know it is hard to work to pay off debt. I just accepted a new job, starting in 4 weeks, and it is a SUBSTANTIAL raise, so I'm planning on using the increase to pay off our debt, too. Good luck!
