I'm sooo new

So, we decided on flying in a day early out of our airport 10 minutes from our house. So, we will be leaving the ABE airport at 5:41 and arriving around 8:01. I think I'm going to just get our luggage and take it on ME with us after reading that they make you take your luggage after 10pm. If we let them take our luggage to our room, would we still get it the night we arrive? I'm thinking we will hit the pool (if they are open that late...probably 11pm) and then relaxing at the hotel/Downtown Disney/Wide World of Sports on Monday (the day we were scheduled to arrive) and start visiting the parks on Tuesday. BUT, we may start with MK Monday and just do some of it Monday. I honestly have not thought that far in advance. I am just worried about my luggage right now. lol

In December, I got to the airport at around 7:00 pm and I checked into the WL around 7:40. I did not get my luggage until 12:30. I got back to myroom around 11:30 and was quite disappointed that my luggage was not in the room. I called and was told that there had been a problem with the luggage going to the CR and the WL. I had what I needed for the night in my carry on, but when I got back to my room I was tired and ready to go to bed, but couldn't since my luggage was still in transit. In the future if I arrive at the airport after 7:00 or so I will get my own luggage.
I would expect that if you arrive at the airport at 8:00, you should get your luggage around 11:00.

There are a couple of ways to go. Yes, you could pick up your luggage. There are still people there at 8:00 to pick the luggage and get it to your resort. You might want to check with Pop, but I don't think they have night time luggage delivery, so if you absolutely have to have your luggage the first night, then you should probabaly pick it up at the airport. Otherwise, pack what you need in your carry on, let ME get your luggage and have it delivered to your room in the morning.
