I'm so STUPID!!!! Luckily the ADR person laughed.

I am definitely :rotfl2: I listen to a lot of talk radio in the car (guess I'm getting old) and all anyone is talking about anymore is politics. I too am a Republican :)

You are not stupid - it's called mommy brain and I am the proud owner of one myself! :thumbsup2

ok- I'm changing the ressies today ...and I promise not to make ressies at McCain's, Huckabee's, or Clinton's..... and definitely not OBAMA's.....

LOL! I think this one of the best threads ever! And no your not stupid but I think you are the first one ever to attempt to make ADR's for dinner with a presidential candidate. Mixing up Ohana with the Luau is a simple mistake but I would suggest dinner at Ohana also, never done the luau so i cant compare the two but Ohana is one of my faves, the breakfast is great too especially if the kids like lilo and stitch, mickey is there too.

What do most people do????? Decide what parks they are doing each day and THEN decide on restaurants? Or do you make ressies to eat and then let the restaurant choices decide your schedule????

I'm nervous about making too many ADR's because we like some flexibility in our schedules...but we are staying at the GF, so getting over to POLY is really easy, right? OK... I think I change my ADR's to breakfast at O'Hana's, Change the evening ressies to the Luau.

I think you should take responsibility for your actions:

You should book the Spirit of Aloha show (2TS per person) as you tried, but also book:

'Ohana as well as Boma so everyone feels included. :rotfl2:

I think someone would call that the fair and balanced thing to do!

ha!!! wait...what does (2TS per person) mean?:confused3

2 TS means- That if you are on the dining plan it uses 2 of your table service credits..

Is this your first trip? My number one recomendation is to not get overwhelmed planning ADRs or feel you have to do everything or eat at all the resturants. I made that mistake before planning our trip around ADRs, BIG mistake!!! I felt too rushed. My recomendation would be to plan where you are going to eat around your touring plan, if you have one, or just based on what park you will be at that day, like dont plan to have dinner at another park just to have dinner and leave. Also dont think your ADRs are written in stone, quite a few times i called up on my cell phone or went to guest services at the park to check to see if i could bump up or push back an ADR. And it never hurts if you get hungry and are far from your ADRed resturant to stop into the closest resturant and ask if they are accepting walk ups, and just as a courtesy I would call up and cancel my ADRs. Just dont let your vacation become a stressful time. Make the ADRs and just dont feel locked into them.
And getting to the Poly from GF is very easy, you just hop on the monorail. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

THis isn't my first Disney trip, but I haven't been since 1999... I was 21 then, and now I'm married with kids... so its my kids first trip. We are also going with my in-laws, sister-in-law, DH, Dh's little 14y.o. cousin and her friend....
Its good to know that there is some flexibility with the ADR's.... I think I'm nervous about making ADR's for the whole group. I can make them easy for my family, decide which parks to do which days now.... but deciding all of that stuff for everyone is hard.
ALSO... for my in-laws and DH, Disney world is like Six Flags, but bigger.... FOR ME.... DW is a different world, and experience that is like none other. For me, its a HUGE deal. I'm so beyond excited!

LOL...this thread is great! And OP.....I think your user name says it all!!! :rotfl:

It would be REALLY hysterical if Obama showed up for dinner at the same place at the same time!!!:rotfl:

Oh my gosh well at least you posted here your funny story so you can make sure you get the right ADR.

Highly recommend doing O'hana for breakfast. We love it. It's a character meal and the characters are always been really good esp Stitch who put my nephew's b-day cupcake in his face. It was the funniest moment all trip and he still talks about it. Plus they have yummy pineapple bread and good food including mickey waffles.

Should Obama become the candidate maybe he'll do an "Eli Manning" type of commercial and say he's going to WDW! That will confuse everyone!

I always plan my days then schedule my ADR's around those days. The only exception to that would be if I really wanted a special meal like one of the Princess meals.

This was the first time I've ever laughed on this site reading a string of posts. It was hilarious, thanks!

Oh, me too! I've laughed... but never outloud like now! And not at MomNeedsaVacay by the way :)

Good luck 'Mom' on planning your trip and all your ADRs!

I tried to make reservations for "OBAMA" today. not Boma, not O'Hana's OBAMA. THe ADR lady was like, " Um, Obama? Do you mean O'Hana's?" I say, "Is that the hula dancing show at the Poly?" , "Yes,,," " Ok, so I would like to make a ressie for 9 at OBAMA's" ... She goes, "O'Hana's"..... "RIGHT! (hitting my forehead).... must have politics on the mind and I'm a REpublican!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

:lmao: :lmao:

I think the post that got me was her second one "oh no, there's a luau?"

You are just too funny!

Oh man, you really do need a vacation.

It'll be a funny story for years though, I agree with the PP.

I would like to add that I think the best way to do things are to 1) pick your park day FIRST, 2) make ADR's accordingly.

And I also agree what one PP said, it is okay to cancel your ADR's when you are there. The first time I went I had EVERYTHING planned out, then found we just didn't want to stop touring (for whatever reason) to sit and eat for 1.5 hours. So, I would cancel, then we'd find a counter service. I say I canceled 50% of my TS reservations that first time.

Now, I pick about 3 TS restaurants I absolutely want to try and never cancel those and make 3 TS that I won't feel bad if we do. I don't want to feel eating is the main focus, or feel so obliged is we are having too much fun touring.

We (who am I kidding here, I, alone) pick parks first and make ADRs accordingly. I wouldn't want to wind up in the MK on Christmas Parade taping day just b/c I had ADRs at CP, KWIM? If there is somewhere special we must eat that is not in a park (like Jiko), I keep that in mind when planning our days. You can always cancel ADRs but you may not be able to get the ones you want last minute. So make your plans, pick places to eat and then cancel later as necessary.

In my defense I am pregnant.... and have a little thing I call "pregnancy brain"

I did vote today.... I did not vote for O'Hana or Boma.
