For about 2 1/2 years I have been feeding the little orange cat that belongs across the street from me. These people are not wealthy and have animals that they really can't take care of. I have suggested that they needed to go to the vet but I don't think they ever did.
Their one cat "Morris" was the cutest cat. He was orange and my aunt (who lives below me) and I sort of took the cat under our wings. I would've taken the cat in except for Mickey and God only knows what kind of diseases this cat had since he had never been to a vet. The neighbors did feed him and take him inside but not too much else. He became my "outside baby". Whenever he saw my car turning the corner he ran across the street and waited for me to get out of the garage and then walked under my feet (literally) to my porch and would get something to eat. He had the cutest face. In the summer he would crawl up the screen door and hang on and meow and Mickey would come running. I would feed Morris and then when he was done, he and Mickey would sit facing each other and talk.
Well, last week the neighbor informed me that Morris was missing and had been since Saturday. He finally came home late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. I believe he was stuck under someones porch - but I think he was half frozen. They said they put him in by the heater and he was eating but Sunday morning he lost his battle.
He was just the cutest little baby and would've made the best pet for someone. I know he is in a better place where he is finally being taken care of but I still miss him.
