I'm so mad I can't see straight!!!

I just got a notice that someone is selling invitations that I made for others on this board on ebay. First, it is illegal to sell anything with a disney image on it and second why would you take someone else's work and sell it!!!!!!

Please be on the lookout for an ebay seller and photobucket account called
"custompartycreations"

How are they custom if they are taken from someone else and then all they are doing is adding words. I'm seriously considering no longer helping to make invitations which is the one thing that I love. I don't want to have Disney breathing down my neck because they link me to something someone else is selling.

When I contacted the seller she claimed that I should have a disclaimer on my stuff explaining how it can and can't be used! Selling or taking credit for something that someone else created is just wrong.... with or without a disclaimer!

I have considered closing my photobucket and 4shared accounts over issues like this. I have decided, at this point, that there are many more good people out there that would enjoy the free use of my work than selfish ones that would profit from it. Then I get a wonderful message from someone who has used my designs and it reminds me why I shared my work to begin with!

This board is filled with wonderful people (DISigners and requesters!) and I believe that what comes around......goes around. The last person that was selling my Disigns actually sent me a message to "call off the dogs" because so many people on this board recognized what she was doing and called her on it! You do a lot for so many on this board, Dolly! Remember that the board has your back as well!

Thanks Natalie!!! I have truely enjoyed using all of your DISigns for family and friends and love to look through your files and tell others where to find your things. I needed to hear what you said...it helped me to feel better about keeping my files open for others. I just don't want Disney lawyers to contact me about using their images.

It so stinks that a few bad people want to ruin it for everyone else. I think it is really sad that people do things like that they think of no one but themselves and that is so sad. Unlike all of the wonderful people, like you, who give so much for others. I eant to say Thank You and I am glad you posted who te person is. I think I will ebay them right now to be one of those 'DOGS' that Natalie spoke of.

I have never sold or profited from anything that I have made...I do it to "pay it forward" for all of the wonderful things that you and others did to make my trip and daily life so special! And it has really helped me to learn a lot about photoshop. I just don't want someone else to sell my things and then Disney come looking for me because they link them back to me.

Dolly, that is AWFUL!!! Can you contact Ebay and tell them? Did you contact the person selling them and confront them? I think you should. Why do people always think about how they can profit from things? It's a shame.

I did and the person said..."you don't have to yell". Didn't know you could yell through a typed message...especially when I sent them a simple message that stated they were my designs, needed to be removed and it is illegal to profit from Disney images. They also said that someone sent them the invitation that he/she was selling on ebay and asked them to add wording. I don't believe this because she/he had 5 of my invitations in her photobucket all with wording for different parties. If he/she was "helping" someone by adding wording to it then why was it on ebay 4 times selling it for a profit. If someone found it through the Boards they know they could contact me or one of us to help them add wording. Mine were not the only invitations from this board that he/she was selling on ebay...there was another DISigners work as well as several replicated DISigns.

The person did remove my images from ebay and their photobucket. I put in the message to them that it is illegal to profit from trademarked images like Disney but yet they are still selling several invitations and disney name designs like cars, toy story, princess, etc.

People will try and sell anything. I would put a small disclaimer in 4-5pt type on your invites stating something like All images property of Disney. Not intended for sale.

I was another designer impacted by this person on ebay as well and it really does sour the whole designing process a little.

But then I have to back up a little and remember why I enjoy doing this and what joy it brings to so many. What Natalie said is exactly what this is all about!

Hopefully this person will only sell their own work from now on.

I know that they have deleted some of my designs already but it hurts when I have a pretty good idea that we (as designers) have helped this person "copy" our work. I believe that the templates and backgrounds were obtained by them asking and us graciously sharing. And then they profit off our designs/ideas - not a very kind way to repay our niceness.

But I need to remind myself to be the bigger person and know how much I have helped others as well who have not taken advantage. And for all of you I have been able to help - Thank you for always being kind and for only using my designs for your own personal enjoyment! That is what this is all about!

This is not nice at all. I tried to see if I saw the person you said selling anything, but my search came up empty.

I was going to send them a note that it is not nice to copy someone's design and then sell it for money.

I am very appreciated of all you designers!!!! And how helpful you guys are. If it wasn't for you we wouldn't have all these amazing shirts and items for Disney and other non Disney.

So many of you add so much to my day, by just giving us all a bit of Disney magic. It is amazing to me how some people will take advantage of the kindness of others. People can be so crappy sometimes. I'm sorry that happened to you. Please don't let one person make you stop doing something that you so obviously love doing. I, for one of many, would hate to see you stop disigning!!! Just this morning you posted a gift tag for me to use our cruise next month....you were the only disigner to reply to my post!!!! If not for you, I wouldn't have the perfect tag for my gift exchange! I really appreciate your work and all of the work of all the other disigners here on this board and hope you guys realize how much "pixie dust" and magic you add to not just our trips to DW but also just to every day happenings.

All I can say is what everyone else already has said, this is absolutely horrible. If anyone does figure out the best way to contact this person or ebay, I will definitely join in.

I can't say how much I appreciate your and other DISigners help. You are making my upcoming trip (~5 months away) so special. We are planning a Disney cruise in 2011 and I have been getting so many ideas and inspiration from you. You are always so helpful and I can't imagine my trip w/o your help and inspiration. Please don't let one person sour what you have done for so many others!

This is excactly why I will not make blank candy toppers and bags anymore, not to mention the whole "cruise "thing.
Personalizing them for personal use is fine but making money off of others
work and generosity is just wrong.

Wow, this is so far beyond my ken I am speechless. A while back I asked someone to post a blank as I wanted to play around with it and make a different DISign. They were nice, but didn't want to do it for fear of people profiting from it. I respected their decision but thought to myself, that doesn't happen anymore since Ebay was contacted about another situation. Lo & Behold I was wrong. I am so sorry that happened to you. I would contact Ebay everytime you see someone selling anything Disney. I am going to start trolling ebay to search these out also. If you want to PM me her user name on ebay, I will also email her. I am so sorry this happened to you. As Natalie said, we got your back, so let us know if we can do anything. Penny

The ebay sellers name is custompartycreations. You can find them by doing an advanced search on ebay.

The advanced search button is at the top of the screen to the right of the search bars...it says "advanced search" in purple. When you click on the advance search button a new screen will pop up. Then scroll down about 2/3 of the page and look for the "sellers" box. Click on the box that says "only show items from". Then the circle should be highlighted for "specific sellers". Finally, type their name " custompartycreations " in the blank box next to the "include" box and click on the search button at the bottom of the screen.

The person has pulled my things and amy's things but there are still things that the person has posted that are trademarked and are surprisingly very similar to what DISigners have made on the boards.
