I have been seeing doctors for about a month now to figure out why my face and legs and feet have been numb....my doctor did a ton of blood tests which looked really good except for showing some type of inflamation, so she sends me to a neurologist. Then I get an MRI on my brain (good news..they found one!) and then today I went in for some kindof of electric shock thing on my legs and then he put needles in my legs...he said the MRI didn't look like I had MS which is what they were leaning toward. But, I walked out of there STILL numb and not knowing what the heck is wrong!!! Grrrrr! Sorry just soooo frustrated!

I'm so sorry this is happening to you. It must be terribly upsetting that th doctors can't figure it out and give you an answer.
{{hugs}} Feel free to vent anytime!

:( I'd be frustrated too, Michelle.:( I hope you find a dr that find the answer to your numbness. {{hugs}}

This may sound strange, but have you tried talking to a chiropractor? When my back is "out" occasionally, my fingers and/or legs will get a bit numb, and if I don't stretch the kink out right away, I can go around with numb fingers, numb toes, a *single* numb toe (how that happens, I don't know  ) for days.

If nothing else works, it's worth a try?

It is so frustrating when you can't find the answers to medical questions.

Sorry to hear about this numbness, I hope they can figure it out soon.

I would be frustrated too. I hope they find out what is causing the numbness and I hope it is something easily delt with.

{{{HUGS}}} Hope you soon know what your problem is!!

I was going to suggest a chiropractor too. Just recently my dad has had numbness in his toes (I think there) and when they ruled out things like diabetes, they did some electrical tests on his feet and discovered that he had a pinched nerve caused by some misalignment in his back. He's been going about once or twice a month now and is beginning to get feeling back. It might be worth a shot to explore this.

I hope they find out soon.

I'm glad your in good spirits. The line about finding a brain made me giggle:D

Keep going to the doctor.

I had a lot of joint pains in 1994--back& hips especially.

It took 8 months to find out I had ankylosing spondylitis. Once I started the right meds, I felt better in 2 days!

I saw an orthopedic surgeon, sports medicine doc and finally a rheumatologist. I almost cried when I told him my story and he said--"OK, I think I know what you have" Blood test confirmed it. Then I found out my grandfather & uncle had the same thing.

So, keep going back to the doctor until they find out what the problem is.

I will be praying for you:D

I haven't ever been to a chiropractor, but that might be a good idea! I'm supposed to find out the results of the electric thingy he did today on Wednedsday. Thanks for the kind words, that helps!:D

How about this? I DO have MS and all that numbness and I ALSO go see a chiropractor. :D My brain MRI's never show lesions, but that's because they're in my spinal cord. Perhaps that's where your neuro will go next. But if all else fails, definitely try the chiropractor. I find it helps alot just my making me feel better overall. Sort of like lifting a ton of bricks off your back everytime you get "cracked".

If you need a someone with alot of neurologist experience, PM me anytime. :D

The disc between C4 and C5 in my neck was bulging into my spinal cord and caused numbness in my arms, legs, and torso. It was identified through an MRI of the spine. A higher bulging disc may effect the facial muscles, so it may be worth asking your doctor if something like that could be the problem.

Unfortunately, it was a problem that the chiropractor I was seeing couldn't fix and more than likely made worse according to my surgeon. I would talk to your Dr about getting an MRI of your spine before going any further. At least it would rule that out, and possible MS in the spinal cord like grinningghost experienced.
