I sure wish I had found this board sooner!! I had no idea that I needed to make priority seating reservations so far in advance and now we are going next week and all the meals with the Princesses are booked up!!

Should I just keep calling or ask when we get to our resort?

Keep calling AND ask when you get to the resort. . You may or may not get lucky, but don't give up too soon. People cancel; stuff happens.

I'm just wondering now, do I need to make a PS for every restaurant or just the character meals?

PS's for character meals are always recommended. It depends on what other restaurants you want to eat at if you need to make PS's.

I always do every restaurant. Better safe than sorry and its easy to cancel them.

How far in advance do I need to make my PS reservations? And where do I call? And where do I go for the Princess breakfast - I know I have to do that one for sure! Any other recommendations?
(Can you tell I'm a first-timer?)
Thanks for any and all advice - I feel so overwhelmed with all the planning required!

If there is someplace you really, really want to go to , I would make PSs just for peace of mind. We make 1 PS a day, usually lunch, and then wing it. Sometimes we get lucky and other times it's a food court night. Not a big deal.

BTW--i have never made PSs for the castle at lunch. I just go there when we enter the park and ask for seating at an off time(2pm). Never been turned down.

And try calling at all different times of day..you never know when a ressie will open up...we scored our ressie for Cindy's...I called randomly :)

We made some of our PS before we left and made a couple while we were there. What I never knew however was how awesome the transport is to Character breakfasts when yours staying at a WDW resort. We had a PS for Chef Mickey's at 7:50am. MK didnt open to resort guests till 8am. We were told by the front desk when we asked how do we get there so early to be at the MK bus stop at 7:05am and tell the driver you have a PS at Chef Mickey's. The dropped us off at the Contemporary's door!! No worring about the walk over. And we were early like 30 minutes early. We went up to Chef Mickey's and they took us in right away. So Im not sure it if was so important for us to have that PS for it or not.

We rarely do unless theres somewhere we really want to go. My DH hates having to work around them. We start off at one park but sometimes decide to hop to another when the mood strikes us, PS's sorta restrict you, imo but everyone is different.
