We are planning a trip to WDW with our family in Sept/Oct--4 kids and 6 adults. We are looking at staying at Orange Lake Resort or in a villa in Windsor Hills. what are the pros and cons of each. We have stayed at Old Key West, Swan, and Dolphin and loved all of them, just wanted to try something new. :dance3:

I've never stayed at Orange Lake though I do know where it is. I have stayed twice at WH in two different townhouses. It is a very nice resort with a huge zero entry free form pool with waterslide and a fountain splash area for kids. There's also a big castle playground for kids, clubhouse with video games, pool tables, ping pong, fitness center, small theatre, store. There's a chipping/putting green, tennis courts etc.
There are 2 and 3 bedroom condos, 3 bedroom townhouses with private 12 by 12 foot splash pools, and 4 - 6 bedroom pool homes with regular size pools. This resort is only 2 years old so all of the homes are new. Each one is privately owned therefore each one is decorated differently with different ammenities. It only takes you 5 min to get to Disney Animal Kingdom and about another 5min to the rest of the Disney parks.
You can't go wrong staying here.

Wow Sympatico couldn't have said it better myself! :thumbsup2

You can find homes for rent in Windsor Hills direct by owner here:

Here's a map of resorts in the area to give you an idea where everything is located:

You can see Orange Lake on the map too, it's by Vista Del Largo on the map, not too far from WHR actually. I can't comment on Orange Lake as I haven't been there, but Windsor Hills is brand new, gorgeous, and has been getting nothing but great reviews here on the DIS and Tripadvisor, I know you can't go wrong there!

We loved our first 2 stays there so much we bought a place there actually! :) The #1 guest comment after visiting? "We will never stay in a hotel room ever again!"

Thanks, George, I posted my own review of WH on TA and was notified today that it had been added to the other posts. It's under Novalobster, Nova Scotia, Canada. Hope you like it.

Just going to zip you downstairs, ssolson:)

:sunny:
