I'm shocked

I've just shared a large bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk with the kids - nothing shocking in that, but I've just noticed that the wrapper states it was made in France. I thought it all came from Bournville (well the chocolate sold in the UK at least).

Mind you, it still tasted good.

So did I Libby! I used to live about 2 miles away from the Bourneville factory and when the wind was blowing in the right direction... chocolate heaven!

I have done the Cadbury's tours a couple of times (the last time about two years ago) and I never got the impression the chocolate was made abroad. Seems wrong, somehow

I used to live down wind of a brewery. Now quite the same reaction when the wind blows your way unfortunately

I know what you mean about the brewery smell Krystal - it's one of the worst smells known to mankind!!

I thought Cadbury's was all made in the UK too...

Thats me checking all Cadburys products from now on. I try at all costs to avoid purchasing French products.

i'll have to check my cadbury bar this afternoon.....i buy my weekly fix on Thursday afternoon....i've always assumed it's imported from the UK....i'll check the label........i'll be surprised if it's from France though.....

DD is off to CadburyWorld weekend after next with the Grandparents (just as well they are taking her as DH not too keen to go now he is not allowed eat chocolate) If I remember I'll get them to ask how much and what is made abroad.

Must check this out as French chocolate is normally made with a great proportion of cocca, much better than the vegatable oil we use in the UK's Could be an improvement

Reid ~ Does that mean it will be low-calorie?

It will contain less calories if less vegetable oil and more cocoa is used However I still think it might be pushing it to describe it as Low Calorie

I'll check where the next bar I have was made although I eat that little chocolate it might be a while before I find out :
