My family and I were all getting ready for the magical experience of The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter. Having read all the books myself, I was really looking forward to it. But then, when we heard Pete & co.'s review of it, we were all agreeing that this would be one to miss when we go in October.

The theming, the shops incorporating that factor, and the whole visual aspect of the place sounded great, but to fight through all those crowds;to fight through hundreds of very hot people just to get to a ride which you have to spend a whole day waiting in line for, didn't seem right.

We were all looking forward to a brilliant trip to Universal, but this review by The Dis just reminded me of one thing- Universal just doesn't have the magic that Disney does.

Here we have a family that was anticipating this great experience, but who now just want to go to Gatorland!

Don't be put off WWOHP based on 1 report, we went last week and it was awesome. October should not be too crowded and I think your family would have a wonderful time.

Hope you have a great trip, whatever you decide to do.

Why don't you read all the positive reviews that people have put on here the last few days then? :lovestruc

Many people, like you, who thought their vacation was going to suck had a blast and thought the WWOHP area was wonderful. Those that did not have a great time, well those might be the ones that could not ride due to size :confused3

By October, things will have calmed down and the ride will have many of the bugs worked out. I would not miss it based on one person's review. Just because there was a reivew that said the RPR was bad doesn't stop me from going there, never had a problem. Also, I have been to IOA back when it first opened and everything seemed to be breaking down but still my now DH and I had a wonderful time.

Also, your right US/IOA does not have the Disney Magic....that is becuase well IT IS NOT DISNEY :scared1: It has Mummy Magic ;) and is a bit different. The atomsphere and everything is different than Disney. I go to Universal to unwind from Disney :)

If you want to go to Gatorland, go to a local golf course...lots there :)

I'd much rather fight through the crowds this week than the crowds I'll be facing the 3rd day after opening. I think it's rather expected that there would be a decent gathering of people even before GO, so if crowds disappointed anyone, well.....they should have been expected. And any crowds anyone is getting now is much less than after GO. Basically, HP is new and thusly will attract lots of people....it'll be that way for a long time.

I put off going to US/IOA last week when we were in Orlando, but that's because it was the beginning of June. To me, the price was too high from what we paid last year to warrant the trip.

But October is a different thing altogether. I think the lines will not be quite as long. I think the prices should be lower then (or US/IOA should be running specials.) I think it might be fun going.

But personally, I don't care to ride HP. I'm not a fan at all and therefore refuse to pay premium for something that doesn't interests me. All I care about is that if the ride's fun. Looking at Youtube makes it look OK, but kinda like Dinosaur.

Sounds funny, but I really wanna go so I can ride The Simpsons and ROTM again.

Absolutely!! I'm sure Pete is a lovely man, but I'm not going to base my vacation on his opinion, just like I don't hold movie reviews as gospel. And come on, where else can you get a butterbeer?:banana:

Whatever you decide, I hope you have a great vacation, too. One day, we'll get around to seeing Gatorland. :)

Good for you!

I'm going to Universal in October and that's one less person to get in my way! :woohoo:

The crowd problem is just as bad at Disney if not worse. Yes I imagine that doing WWOHP this summer would be horrendous. I am actually surprised with Universal doing a summer opening for this. Apparently they learned nothing from Disneyland opening in mid freakin July, lol.

I would wait until Fall or Winter to go. But it's not something to get ticked off about. Doing anything in the summer is usually bad.

Our family is going to Universal/IOA in November. We would have went regardless of the Harry Potter attraction. We're just hoping we don't have a repeat of what happened to us in 2005. Jurrasic Park, Jaws, & Dudley Do-Right Falls were not running due to either break downs or reburbishments, but we understand that it's the chance we take when going during off-season.

We really want to try Jaws since it's an attraction by itself unlike California's. We all love the Mummy in Orlando too. A much better ride there. And what can you say a about Spiderman? Just wow!

I'll be disappointed if I can't ride FJ due to my body type, (I'm an apple :rotfl: ) but it won't ruin our trip. I think too many refurbishments and breakdowns would disappoint us more. JMHO. ;)

The WWOHP has more magic in one faux icicle than anything Disney's done in years. Because Universal created a new world-class attraction, people from all around the world are going to want to experience it.

And if you want the magic of Disney, try getting a FastPass for their now 2-year-old Toy Story Midway Mania in the afternoon. Or walking through main street during the fireworks.

Disney and Universal both have some of the greatest theme parks in the world, and yes, you won't have the parks to yourselves to experience Universal's latest and greatest.

Hey, I missed something. Where IS Pete & Co's review? I can't find it!

We`ll be there too in October :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

The less people that go then the better as far as I`m concerned.

Do people really judge something on one persons opinion??? Or is it just another Universal basher grabbing an opportunity to, well....bash????

I think most reviews I have read have been very positive and I`m so looking forward to seeing the whole new experience as well as the rest of US/IOA again. "MY" happy place :cheer2: :cheer2:

I completely agree! ::yes::

This will be our 3rd year in a row, and 4th in 5 years going in October. With WWOHP and HHN 20th anniversary, I suspect this October will be crazy buzy, but very fun too!

Lots of fun I hope :thumbsup2

We were there for our first HHN in 07 and loved it, made it for 08, but had to miss last year and go to Florida in August due to sons schooling schedule.

So we are so psyched for this years, and are expecting big things :scared1: :scared1: (sorry I know it`s off topic ;))

I have to agree with the pp who brought this up---have you BEEN anywhere near Toy Stoy Mania at WDW?? Or the morning stampede to Soarin?? I love Disney as much as anyone, but lack o' crowds is not their strong suit!!:lmao:
