I'm scared.

My husband and I are scheduled to go to the World this Saturday for a week. We usually go, been there many times, when it is hot and this time it will be a during a cold spell. Be both get cold easily and I have packed long johns, hats, gloves and various layers of clothing. Should I buy us windbreakers?

We can reschedule this trip without any penalties and we're now considering to reschedule.

Any thoughts?

Here now, has been in the 80's for four days - also for tomorrow. Cool in the evenings, otherwise perfect weather. Showers for Fri - Sat. then beautiful again. Should be low to upper 60's the next week during days - not bad at all!! Nights 40-50 - nothing to get upset about. Dh & I have been using windbreakers mornings and evenings, but plenty others have short sleeves. Oh, and we, too, are colder natured.

The last time we came to WDW was in Dec. 2010, and we nearly froze - now that was a time I would 'not' like to repeat!!! Was 28* a couple nights and 40's-50's during day with wind chill - now personally, I would never visit during that kind of cold again. I do not like being out all day bundled up and still freezing, all while trying to enjoy 'playing'!! No way for this southern girl!!

We were in Disney this past weekend. Wore capris and never took our sweatshirts out of the luggage. It was pretty warm and humid during the day and nice swimming weather. Hard to say which way it will go until you get there! Check the 7 day forecast before you head out and adjust your bag accordingly.

Yea, we are checking the forecast. That's why the OP posted. :sad2: This is from WESH. Lows of 39/40 aren't exactly swimming weather.

Glad to hear you are still going, op. Like others say, dress in layers, take a wind breaker, wear warm socks, take gloves, scarf, and a warm hat. Keeping your head and feet warm are especially. important.

The forecast does not look that bad. Unless you're from the equator I think you'll be fine even if you get cold easily. If you have various layers of clothing and a jacket, you'll be fine!

Yes, December 2010 was SO cold. We luckily had snow in PA so we already had some cold clothes with us. Because the forecast said 60s all week we didn't pack too heavily. We ended up with 1 day of 60 and 4 days of 20-30 degree weather during the day! It felt like Christmas! If we didn't have snow on the way to the airport that day, we likely would not have had the thick clothes we needed. As Magpie also showed in the photo....you needed layers in 12/2010! It seems a lot of us on the disboards remember that year well!
Yes very cold! I took my granddaughter that year. Now I say we should go to Disney in December to see all the decorations and she says NO! :rotfl: I think she doesn't believe me when I say it is not always that cold there:rotfl:

Reschedule because it's going to be in the 50s or 60s during the day and upper 30s at night? Certainly up to you 100%, but that's a bit extreme of a reaction for me, I wouldn't even consider rescheduling (and I hate the cold). During the day, I'd be fine. At night, I'd have an extra warm pair of socks, a light jacket and I'd be good to go...well, besides feeling really strange walking around WDW in that type of clothes.
I agree. No need to panic or be 'scared' by a little weather change..... IMHO you can;t control the weather so why worry is my motto! Just pack what you think you'll need to stay comfortable(layers!) and go.

Here’s the latest in the weather change just to keep people aware:

That weather forecast looks great to me, but I'm from Vermont.
Going to the area next week for work, between Jax and Orlando. Looks cool at night, but not horrible.
Bring layers. You do enough walking it shouldn't be horrible. Some sort of wind resistant outer layer wouldn't not be the worst idea.

I'm here now and just spent the afternoon at the pool- it's plenty warm during the day!

Buy hot cocoa!! And maybe pack uggs to walk around in at night. If you feel better, pack hand warmers and bring with you for nights. I understand, my DH would not be happy leaving the cold north east and wanting warm florida but getting the cold northeast again on vacation once a year. He would be disappointed it's not warm florida getaway and getting the warmth of the sun on his face. He would not want to go because that's his favorite part of a disney vacation, the warmth. I don't share those views but really understand that's important for him, I just want disney!
